My biggest .DRS file is about 700 blocks!!?? The .DRS is just a directory of
the notesfile with one line per entry. Assume an average of 50 bytes per
line, then your .DRS file with 10000 blocks represents the directory of a
  notesfile with over a 100.000 topics !!!
With other words, you must be doing something wrong....:-) Did you had a look
into that .DRS file?? (It's normal ascii). What notesfile is it?

I had this happening on a conference that had more than 9999
	topics.
If I remeber well, rnu only compared on 4 digits to check what the latest
entry was and thus started all over again, the end result was
having each day a full directory appended to the already
	existing directory.
