Are you into Native American flute music enough to know of a good source
for flutes?

| | Bob, I don't know if anyone else has a reference, but I know I've seen flutes in
the "Lark in the Morning" catalog. I put the contact info into the Folk music
conference at COOKIE::FOLK_MUSIC, as I recall, though the question at hand
didn't pertain to native American flutes.

| | The local trading store has a few flutes available. Thier prices are a
bit high however these are the genuine hand made flutes and not a mass
production type. Prices range from about $65.00 up to $250.00.
The handmade flutes are exceptionally tuned from the low to high
pitch according to what your preference is. If you would like me
to do some checking aroun for you because I am also in the market for
a flute I can afford. My credo is quality first, cost second.

| | Cool...

I've been going to "pow wows" for a couple of years... pretty much
every chance I get. I'm not Native American, but I do love the culture,
music and dance. As a song-writer, I try to be a "sponge" when it comes
to so-called "world music". While I don't directly rip off what I hear,
it soaks into the skin and bubbles up when I find myself sitting at the
piano... I'm also very interested in the spiritual aspect of Native
American culture, and how this aspect is embodied in the music and
    dance. (I have a t-shirt which reads: I'm not a human being having a
spiritual experience; I'm a spiritual being having a human experience).

I find the NA people to be very willing to teach those who want to
learn more about their culture. My kids love the pow wows too...
