--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i play tenor sax regularly (clarinet rarely) and have a strong interest in
picking up flute, particularly for jazz playing.
i'm looking for recommendations on buying a used flute, including price range
and suggested models, as well as where to get some instruction. i guess a
student model would be ok, but i am not that knowledgeable about flute models
and materials built from to know what's a good buy. hampshire music in nashua
once showed me some flutes, but i really didn't know what i was looking at.
as far as playing, flute shouldn't be that big a step from sax, just how to get
the embrochure right. maybe a few lessons from a pro would help. i live and
work in the nashua area, so any suggestions for places close by would be
helpful. from a good book, i could also probably teach myself.
thanks in advance,
/greg
