ok, we challenge both ROST and DESROCHERS !

amongst the people who have took the test so far, I would like to
congradulate both BLICKSTEIN and TUTAK_PE, because these people
replied only moments after the initial note was posted, they had
absolutely no time to research. thanx for playing.

    and keep playin'

the gift I had in mind was a CD of a Canadian band or artist.

let's see if Brian Rost will live up to his reputation.

		 - so many trivia, so little time -
For example, did you know that Beatles' Because was
Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, chords played backwards ?
Or, did you know that Roy Buchanan burned Ron's Hammond B3 ?
Hey, Ron, that story of yours would make a great trivia,
	wouldn't it ?
Or, did you know that the arm band "O.P.D." Paul Mc Cartney is
wearing on the cover of Sergeant Pepper, stood for Ontario Police
Department (or within the "Paul is dead hysteria", it read
	Officially Pronounced Dead) ?
Or, did you know that Beatles recorded "She Loves You" in German
(Sie Liebt Dich, Yeah Yeah Yeah) while in Germany ?
And then, there are these ones, *even* *I* don't know. Like,
in end of the movie "Postcards From The Edge", the band behind
Meryl Streep, is it really Blue Rodeo ?
Or, did Nathalie Wood really sing Fleetwood Mac's "I'm not
a child anymore", in the movie in which she played a
	handicapped musician ?
No, there are no Jimi Hendrix questions. I have been reading the
Jimi Hendrix note for a while now, you guys know everything about
him. I bet you even know his shoe size too. What is his shoe size
	anyway ? Just curious.
Tolerate the diversity or the lack thereof, depending on your
	perspective.
Play along, make educated guesses. Some of the wrong answers
are so PAINFULLY OBVIOUS, it is easy to pick the right one.
It was a lot of fun last time, hope we'll all enjoy it this
time too. Don't post answers here, send mail to
		OTOOA::ESKICIOGLU or
		KAOSWS::ESKICIOGLU.
And, yes, there is a prize.
Please don't jam all your answers "a,a,c,d,b,b ..." all in one
line. Remember a human being will score your answers. I don't
have an optic reader handy here.
It works this way: You mail me your answers, when I get a chance
(might be a couple of hours, might be a couple of days, depending
on my schedule) I score your answers, send you a mail back, tell
you how you did, together with the correct answers. Early players
who are entrusted with the answers, please don't share them with
the ones who haven't played yet.
You are free to make all the research you want, as if I could
control that otherwise ;-). The only research you are not allowed
to do is to break into my account. Don't even think about it ;-)
As far as deadline is concerned, how'bout two weeks ? Too long ?
	Too short ?

I don't know if Carole King wrote it expressly with the babysitter in
mind, but she did write (or co-write) it, and the babysitter was tapped to
  sing on the record.
Goffin-King were the original models for Lennon-McCartney; according to

If I interviewed Carole King, I, too, would have asked if she

"Will you still love me tomorrow" is a typical Carole King song,

Most players found the incorrect answer "Gone With The Wind" (Q19)
	quite amusing.
All players, without exception, answered Edison-"Mary had a little
lamb" question (Q16) correctly. I did not know this was something
	so widely known ;-)
All players, except Henrik, answered Rod Stewart's soccer team
question (Q4) incorrectly. Haven't you ever listened to "You're in
my heart" closely ? It says, very clearly, "Celtic United" in
	there.

Thanks for explaining the Young Turk term. I didn't know that there was
such an expression. Rod's Young Turks song makes sense now. Title
matches the story. The song is talking about two young and courageous
    lovers running away from home.

When I was 17, I had a t-shirt that said "Meet The Young Turk". I was
wearing it walking on the beaches of North Carolina. I always thought
it referred to my age and my origin.

For some obscure reason, I happen to be very knowledgeable on Turkish
history ;-) It was Ottomon Empery up until 1923. Then Turkish Republic
was founded. The Sultans would become Emperors at very young ages,
sometimes as young as 11-12. I think the one you are thinking of is
Suleyman the Magnificient who brought the empery to its richest days.

If you listen closely to "Since I've been loving you", there's
a creaking noise throughout the beginning of the song.
I suspect it comes from the tape recorder or the drummer's seat.
After all, they did use some unconventional miking for Led Zep III.
    Any ideas?

Billy Joel", I will have to insist that correct answer is Elton John,
I will go further by declaring that Elton John was actually the very
first rock star who performed in USSR.

According to rumor, after Elton John and Billy Joel, U2 has also
performed this song over there. Can anybody confirm this ?

We still don't have the right answer for the gift Paul brought to his
    baby brother from Germany.

| | I used to be WAAF's contract photographer, and got usually got "full
access" stage passes to any show they were sponsoring.

...so I arrive, get introduced to AG who greets me with basically,
"Hello, I hate photographers...", shoot a couple frames with the
'AAF jocks, and then go stake out my spot behind the curtains, stage
    right.

Next thing I know, I hear the general manager ushering the press out.
"Ha! Those dweebs. They can't possibly mean me." As AG is walking out
to the stage, he sees me in the curtains and throws a gasket. "Get that
god damn photographer outta here!!!" and I sense he's not about to go
on stage until I'm ejected, so I start to inch into the background.

"GET HIM OUT!!!!" Yep, I realize he's serious as a couple of
rent-a-goons grab me by the vivitar and toss me squarely on my 135.

I spent the rest of the night in front of the stage much to his dismay.

Ironically, the best picture I got that night shows ol' Artie looking
    almost angelic.

I recently picked up the 4 Seasons "Anthology" on Rhino. I'm very

Bingo. "Oh What a Night" is the Dells...

The 4 Seasons song, "December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)", was written and
produced by one-time 4-Season (their resident songwriter), Bob Gaudio.
Came out in '75, I think it said in the Rhino Anthology, along with
