| | "Noah's Dove" is amazing ... beautiful song.
I was a little surprised to hear horns ! in some of the songs ...
they work, though.

I also purchased 10,000 Maniacs new CD "Our Time In Eden", and fully
agree it is a great product. Natalie's voice and emotion as as strong
as ever. I have also seen their video version of These are the days, it
    is quite nice.

They were *KILLER* on SNL this last weekend. Ms. Merchant could teach
Madonna a thing or two about sensuality.

A local (Wash. D.C.) alternative station, (WHFS 99.1) has reported
that rumors of the bands break-up have apparently been true. 10,000
Maniacs played their "last concert" as a band last night in their home-
town of Jamestown, NY. They also said that Natalie Merchant will be
releasing her own work in the future.
I'm anxious to see what becomes of this.

Another case where too much attention paid to the front-person has
deep-sixed a band. I still think the band was already on the way down
after "The Wishing Chair" when John what's-his-name left. His
contributions were most of what I liked about the band.

| | Just got the mtv unplugged 10,000 Maniacs CD last night. The sound
leaves a little to be desired, I guess that's a result of the format.
The release itself is very good, the song list is:
    	These Are Days
    	Eat For Two
    	Candy Everybody Wants
    	I'm Not the Man
    	Don't Talk
    	Hey Jack Kerouac
    	What's The Matter Here?
    	Gold Rush Brides
    	Like The Weather
    	Trouble Me
    	Jezebel
    	Because The Night
    	Stockton Gala Days
    	Noah's Dove

| | Well, I guess this will tide everyone over till Natalie releases her
first solo effort. Actually, since she's the only one seen on the
cover, I guess the record company forgot that it's still a band release
    8^)

BTW, completists will want the new Rock For Choice release on Rykodisk
that has a track with REM and Natalie doing their (previously
    unreleased) thing.
