Hi. I have just discovered this conference and after reading the
guidelines (like a good NOTER) and searching for information on
newletters, magazines, and books, I have this question.
I am interested in learning about newsletters, magazines, or books
that review (critique performance, recording quality) different styles
of music (jazz, classical, pop, ...). Can you provide pointers to
publications ?

One such publication is CD Review. They publish reviews of CDs in
classical, jazz, rock, and possibly other genres. They also publish an
annual "Yearbook" with all of their reviews from the past year.
Unfortunately, I don't have an address to write for subscription info.
but you should be able to find it at your favorite newsstand/ bookstore...
