Marc just turned 2, and has had all his teeth completely in for a
couple of months, including the 2-yr. molars. But he still seems to
exhibit the symptoms of teething - drooling, fingers in the mouth,
and CONSTANT chewing on his teddybear, toys, etc. In fact, he seems to
be chewing on stuff more now than when he was younger. He sometimes
says his teeth hurt, but I don't know if it's really true, or he just
thinks he'll get some baby Orajel if he says that (he seems to really
like the taste of the stuff).
Could he still be teething somehow? I made an appt. at a pediatric
dentist for a checkup, and to see if all his teeth look OK.

Well Deb don't feel bad. My son just turned 2 yesterday and is the
same way as your son. I also have a girlfriend who thought her
daughter 2 yrs 6 mths was finished teething cause she had all her teeth
and all of a sudden another set of molars popped up. So I don't know
what to tell you, but maybe the pediatric dentist can sheed some light
on this matter. Please let us know what he says.

Well, Marc had his first dental checkup/cleaning. In the two weeks
since I posted the base note, he seems to have stopped chewing on
everything. The dentist said that drooling is a function of chewing...
the more he chews on toys, the more he'll salivate. All his teeth are
in and they look fine, except for a severe overbite :-(
BTW, the pediatric dentist was fantastic. If anyone wants his name,
send me mail (he's in Nashua).
