| | Please bear in mind the "touchiness" of this sort of note. While
general information about services and prices is welcome here, the moderators
(and Corporate Law) would prefer that all reccomendations or horrors stories
that include the service name by made/told off-line.

| 222.3 | There's only one I know of | SAGE::MACDONALD_K |  | Mon Aug 06 1990 17:06 | 7 |
| | Last time I checked, there is only ONE diaper service in all of Mass.
    Look in your phone book - there's a large company with an 800 number.
    Of course, there may be local services in your area that I'm not
    aware of. The large service that I'm referring to schedules deliveries
    to most of the state.

    name? If not, mod's please bleep my reply out.

    It's Dydee. I called them , and found their prices to be very
    reasonable. Especially for one child.

Well, they DON'T service Northboro, MA.

| | I've been using the Dorchester MA-based branch of Dydee for 2.5 years
    now and had NO problems with them. On the contrary, every time we've
    had a question or problem, they've been helpful and responsive, even
    making a special trip to deliver extra diapers a few times. We now use
    50/week (soon to be less) and spend about $13./week. I think it's well
    worth the price for our situation and we've been very happy with
    cloth diapers.

| | There's a new service in Fitchburg called Soft Bottoms. Don't have
    their number off-hand but I'm sure information would haveit under
    new listings.

| 222.9 | i used dydee, and loved it. | ASABET::HABER | kudos to working mothers | Fri Aug 10 1990 11:15 | 21 |
| | I used Dydee with both my kids, first in 1984 for a year [except for
    day care, couldn't deal with schlepping dirty diapers back and forth at
    all], then again in 1987 for 5 months, again till day care started. I
    found that for newborns the "inconvenience" outweighed everything else
    -- newborns need changing so often and it hurt to toss out a paper
    diaper that'd only been worn a few minutes [or so it seemed]. Plus my
    first had the skinniest legs! no paper diaper fit him right, but you
    could easily adjust the cloth to fit better. plus you also have spit
    cloths -- at one point we were using the maximum 120/week -- and close
    to 20 were just for spitting up! we stopped using the cloth even
    part-time because way back then, a box of pampers cost almost the same
    as the cloth -- WELL under $10 for 50 cloth. i know it's more now, but
    in the long run it's better -- I felt better, and ecology didn't enter
    into it much in 1984, for me at least.

    I still have some of their diapers -- somehow things got confused when
    we stopped for vacations, etc -- they make good dust cloths, and one of
    my daughter's animals has one on 'him' -- with the understanding that
    only a parent open the pins!

| 222.10 | Try Manchester, NH | CSG002::HAMMOND |  | Wed Aug 29 1990 17:10 | 12 |
| | To answer your question, I live in Groton so we're fairly close.

    Dydee Diaper out of Manchester, NH services us. The cost is $11.65
    per week. I haven't had any problems with them. They have an 800
    number that I don't have with me. You can also reach them at (603)
    668-6887.

    By the way, the Dorchester Dydee office was the one that connected
    me to Manchester.

    Good Luck,
    Carol

| | Thanks for the pointers! Both services that people have mentioned
    here are about the same price (within 25 cents/week!). So, we've
    decided to give one a try, and then will switch to the other if
    the first one doesn't work, for some reason.

    Only about 3 1/2 weeks to go till my due date, so I guess we'll
    be finding out pretty soon!

| 222.12 | DIAPER SERVICE OPENS IN GARDNER | WMOIS::SAUNDERS |  | Wed Oct 24 1990 09:03 | 28 |
| | NEW DIAPER SERVICE IN SOUTH GARDNER MASS OPENS.

    For all of you interested in more information a Diaper Service has
    recently opened in So Gardner Massachusetts called Nature's Way,
    delivering within a 30 mile radius. The number is 1 (800) 439-3350
    or locally 630-3350.

    Unlike the "traditional pre-fold diaper" Nature's Way provides you
    with a "modernized" cloth diaper in the shape of an hour glass, for
    the snug, comfortable fit your baby deserves. Included with the
    weekly service you receive 3 Nikky diaper wraps. Believed to be the
    "best" of all diaper wraps available. You can diaper your newborn
    for $14.00 dollars a week.  That's a $6.00 a week savings when com-
    paring the cost of disposables.

    We made the switch for many different reason's, and the switch was
    an adjustment. We quickly realized that disposable diapers do in
    fact hold more water and that our daughter required more changes.
    After a few days of humming and hawing about it we felt that we
    had done the right thing, environmentally as well as financially.
    In all aspects the change for us and our daughter was well worth it.

    Digital Employees are also entitled to a 20% discount weekly for
    there first month of service.
