| 102.1 | new crib should be unscraped!? | TIPTOE::STOLICNY |  | Mon Jul 02 1990 11:25 | 5 |
| | Hmm, we exchanged the first crib that we bought because it had
    some imperfections in the finish. I wasn't willing to pay
    close to $400 for imperfections! Is exchange an option?

|  |     Hi CJ--

    	Yes, exchange is an option, and my husband and I are debating
    about what to do. Was yours white? I'm just wondering if they
    are all going to be somewhat banged up because they are white--
    one part of the wood actually looks like it was dented and then
    painted over.

    	I really don't know what to do...

| 102.3 | sorry, ours is oak | TIPTOE::STOLICNY |  | Mon Jul 02 1990 11:51 | 5 |
| | No, ours is an oak finish. I guess that you may be right to
    expect some chips with a painted finish. We'll have to
    see what the white crib owners have to say!

| | Is it worth the bother? It will probably have plenty of new whacks and
    dents in the next year, anyway.

| 102.5 | white nail polish | USCTR2::PNOVITCH | PAM | Mon Jul 02 1990 11:57 | 8 |
| | I also just bought a white crib and it had minor scratches on it. To
    me it wasn't worth breaking down and returning it.

    I just applied a little white glossy nail polish and you can't notice
    it at all.

    Hope this helps!

| | A lot of it depends on how much you paid for it and the store you
    bought it from. I'd expect a lot more from a $400 crib from a
    quality store (gee, my bed didn't cost that much new!) than if I
    bought a $179 crib from Child World or a discount store.

    Hi All!

    	Well, my husband and I finally made our decision and we
    exchanged our new white crib (with the scratches and dents) for
    another of the same kind. This time, we opened it in the store
    and checked it out thoroughly. I was so much happier with this
    one--maybe one or two little tiny scratches--nothing like the first
    one.

    	Thanks to all of you for your advice. We really appreciated
    it--we're first time parents and we didn't know if we were being
    too fussy!!!

    Thanks,

    Sheryl

| | I can understand all the "perfectness" of anything for that first
child. I have the same feelings about that certain something for
our Sammy.
May the child of light be shining in that crib SOON!.
