Has anyone heard of or have information on Beta Strep Infection. A
friend of mine son was born with this and to have major surgery perform
on him to hook him up to a ECMO (Heart Lung Bypass System) machine
Thanks
Carla

I would check out the medical file on this one. There is a strep topic,
but don't know if it goes into what you've asked. There must be something
about pediatrics/children and strep.
Not clear on 'beta strep' vs strep, but my sister had a strep infection
recently that went undiagnosed for more than a few weeks, and they said
she was lucky to be alive; the infection began to affect her joints and
muscles, and could just as easily have hit her heart. I know there is
no real comparison here, but it (strep) can be extremely bad.
Good luck...
