| | Surely arousal is all a state of mind anyway. Any nudist realizes
that a clothed body may be more arousing than a naked one, because
of the element of "mystery"; and this holds regardless of how well
you know what's under the clothing.

There is an interesting anecdote somewhere in the REC_NUDE
conference, where someone talks about drawing in figure classes.
After a couple hours of nude modeling, the model would put on a robe
to take a break, have a Coke, or whatever; and the author describes
how all the old reflexes would come into play, finding it exciting
to catch a glimpse of the cleavage of this woman that he had been
seeing nude for the past few hours.

This rings true to me. Allure is *much* more complicated than just
    seeing a naked body.

| 62.2 | Probably a good thing | SSDEVO::YOUNGER | Everyone is entitled to my opinon | Fri Jun 03 1988 16:01 | 10 |
| | Yes, I think that seeing your SO nude around the house frequently
generates an "it's no big deal" attitude toward seeing that person
nude. I don't think that's bad. There is a lot more to making
love than simply seeing a nude body, in spite of what Playboy tries
to tell us. There are all kinds of other physical and emotional
things that come into play here. Undressing is only a small part
of that. Taking nudity out of the picture causes all of these other
    things to come into focus.

| 62.3 | In 16+ years...it hasn't happened yet! | GENRAL::KILGORE | The Desert Rat | Fri Jun 03 1988 18:17 | 25 |
| | >> ...after awhile, it "would be no big deal" to see the SO in the nude.

It usually isn't any big deal...but then there are other times...watch out!
To me it depends on what mood I'm in (and my SO) at the moment and WHERE we
are at. If we are in a "playful" mood, it is a BIG deal to see him naked!
I think it is great to be so relaxed and at ease about being around another
person (SO or not) that you don't have to worry about bending over and
exposing god-knows-what to others and not be embarrassed (OR harrassed) about
it. We used to nude with another couple while at each others house or while
camping together. It was just a relaxing, social time. It was real nice.
I think you should spend whatever time you feel comfortable nude with your
SO and not worry about losing the allure. Society has fed too much of that
BS to us. Maybe that is why the smaller the bikini, the more enticing which
BTW is most expensive. Or the reason flimsy negligees are supposed to help
us "get" our man...
After being married to Bob for 16+ years, I still find him exciting! And we
have always slept in the nude. (I quit wearing night-clothes long before I
left home...I don't think my mother could figure out why I never had any
nightgowns to wash!) :-)

I think we are saying the same thing. It is not just seeing your
SO nude, it is the place, and the mood, and the emotions behind
    it.

I am excited by my SO too. If the mood is right, I may be excited
no matter what he is wearing (or isn't wearing). I don't think
exposure necessarily has anything to do with the allure. There
is just so much more to think about!

| | An old roommate of mine told me that he had gotten tired of going
to the strip bars in his town because he realized that he had started
ignoring the stripers and was always trying to look down the front
of the waitresses' dresses when they bent over...amusing...

| | What's the ugliest part of your body?
What's the ugliest part of your body?
    Some say your nose,
    Some say your toes,
But I think it's your mind.
