| | Brilliant!
I've seen demos of this and wanted some myself, however not
having a pc kind of limits the potential for Catz growth.
Do keep us updated... BTW you didn't tell us the name
or colour of your virtual fur-face.
>provide water they can get sick.
I wonder if they go to a Rainbow-Website when they get
really old and their program runs out?

| | Amazing....but my first thought was somehow/somewhere these
CATZ kittties will become computer strays and I'll end up
    with many of them.

I'd love to hear more stories about these CATZ as time goes
    on.

Sandy (who sure don't need another cat to take care of)

| 1059.3 | too much fun! | GRANPA::JBOBB | Janet Bobb dtn:339-5755 | Fri Jan 24 1997 10:17 | 32 |
| | Well, I haven't decided whether this program is good or bad.

I love sitting at the computer playing with the kitty. But I have to
force myself to wait until I've finished my work (this is my home pc
which I usually only use late at night or first thing in the morning
before I go to work - so more time on the computer means either getting
less sleep or being late... neither choice is good!). And I feel so
guilty turning off the program/pc I give it extra pats, more food and a
treat. I'll probably have the only overweight computer kitty!

I haven't turned Pouncer out of the pen while I'm doing real work.
There is something about if he gets into an active window, he's the
active window and the program stops. But maybe I'll try that this
weekend. You can pick the kitty up by the "scruff" and move it, or
spritz it with water - so those may be the ways of keeping it off you
    active work.

anyway - I can now see me making a special trip to turn on the pc just
to check on the kitty! So - as I said, not sure if this is good or
    bad. But it is fun!

    janetb.
now owned by Merlin, Rascal and cyber-cat Pouncer

    btw - I adopted Pouncer
and since the name fit so well, haven't changed it. We've played with
different colors, but always go back to the original - black with white
    markings (and a pink tongue!)

| 1059.4 | Catz site on the Web | BOOKIE::chayna.zko.dec.com::xanadu::eppes | Nina Eppes | Fri Jan 24 1997 15:48 | 9 |
| | A quick search with Alta Vista turned up a Catz Web site (of course :-) ).
You can download a free version, apparently.
The URL is: http://www.catz.com/
Enjoy!

the software requires: (taken off box)

    	4 mb ram
Win '95 requires at least 16 color video card and monitor
Win 3.x requires at least 256 color video card and monitor
    	Optional: Windos-compatible sound card
    Distributed by Virgin Interactive entertainment

It was a present to me, but the giver said he thought it was less than
    $20.

The program still takes what I think is a long time to start up. But
once it gets going the kitty is pretty active. As I'm typing this,
Pouncer keeps poking his head out from under this window (I have his
play pen almost the size of the screen and am typing in a smaller
window) He is starting to look bigger and he did a backflip tonight
while playing with one of the toys.... and I feel guilty I haven't had
    him "on" since friday night!

    good grief!

It comes on CD rom (at least that's what I got)

    Website on box is www.pfmagic.com
