| | I do know of some X-deccies that still take care of the MRO cats.
I believe they are fed daily, there is a wooden shelter somewhere
behind the MRO1 complex, and they have also spay/neutered and
provided vaccines for many of them.

They have been working this project for years and have captured many
and found homes for the more friendly ones. I believe the ones you
might be seeing are the feral ones that were put back there after
their vet visit or possibly new ones!!

| | For several years, there were a bunch of cats living in a concrete
"bunker" under the tunnel between MRO1 & MRO2. The bunker was
attached to the side of MRO2. Haven't seen hide nor hair of them
for over a year now though....I wonder if these are some of what
    you've seen.

Lenora Palmer, a devoted cat-person in the MRO1 Library, might have
    more current details for you.

Well, last night was NOT one of my better ones. All four of
my babies are indoors. Gilligan and Pandora are rescue kitties
so we figured if they ever got out, we'd never see them again.

So as I'm pulling into my driveway last night, I notice Pandora
sitting in the sun on the front stoop and my front door open
about 4 inches!! I slam on the brakes and run up to the door
(not even thinking that someone could be inside). Sasha and
Audrey come out too and I corral everyone back inside. No signs
of forced entry and no signs of anyone inside....... also, no signs
of Gilligan. Not to mention the remains of what was a very cute
chipmunk sitting in the middle of my foyer. So I'm running
round outside, crying, shaking the food container and calling to
Gilligan - for 30-45 minutes. Then I went back inside just to make
sure he wasn't there. I put the can opener in the kitchen window
and kept hitting it (if he's around that's a guarantee to get him
to show up)...... nothing. So then I try the basement again and
as I flick on the light, there he is on the stairs!! Something
must have spooked him and he decided to hide in the basement.

It appears that we must not have shut the front door tight (the
hole that was cut for the lock was a little offline) and the heavy
winds yesterday blew it open. We'll be fixing THAT very soon!!

    	Yeesh.........
