    Eleanor,

I also am against that type of device, but it is no different than
the collars they have for invisible fences that many dog owners use.
So it is sold in stores and MSPCA can not do anything about it.

| | Well, it can't be worse than an awful story I heard about the
vet-tech who had her dogs' vocal cords cut because the neighbors
were going to make her get rid of it.

I would MOVE before I'd do that!!

| | The collar you are refering to is a training collar and they are used
all the time. There are two types. One you can activate yourself,
wait for the dog to bark and then you remotely activate the collar to
shock the dog. The other is activated by the bark itself. The dog
will bark X number of times and then it will be shocked. The collar
resets itself and then the dog will be able to bark X amount of times
    before the collar shocks again.

You may consider this inhumane or not agree but lets get real folks.
If you have a dog that is a problem barker you normally have tried just
about everything and anything to get them to stop. (If you live next
to someone that has a barking dog you might understand better)

I have a collar and I have used it to break one of my dogs that barks.
She barks for no reason at all that I can determine. My male sits and
watches as she just barks and barks.

It corrects her and she seems none the worse for
it. I do have to put the collar on her occasionally for a day or two.
I do not think they should have them on all the time.

Sandy the dogs node is changing address. Donna the moderator is
supposedly doing all this on Monday. The node name is still DOGS
but the adress will be changed to 2.260. You can have your friendly
system manger define the new node address on your system. As a matter
of fact it is still the old address, I just got in on another window
    ;-)

Deanna, see reply previous to yours. But the network updates should
be automatic. If not have your system manager define it for you.
    just show him note 803.6
