| | I only caught the last 15 minutes or so, but my cats were enthralled
with all the meowing! It looked like a pretty good show.

I missed the earlier one. There was another one on really
late and that one was all about dogs. I kept flipping back
to see if they were going to show any kitty monsters but they
    	didn't. Guess I missed out!

Same show. Confused? ]:} It was a 2-hour "show" consisting of *all
dogs* the first hour and *all cats* the second hour. They reran it
really late, so Judy what you saw was the dog half.

I'm definitely more of a Feliner than a Caniner :-) but I think they
did a better job on the dog half. The dog people had photogenic pets,
a visible affection and good relationship with them, and let's face it,
dog tricks are easy to duplicate and film (or tape). The cat people
were mostly presented as wackos: a gentle but out-there lady in SF who
has an Egyptian temple and an ocelot (who was not pleased about being
held for the interview); an older couple with 25 or so cats; the little
girl *scrubbing*, not patting, her poor kitty's head, and similar
mishandling of the cat which was rescued from the tree (now I know why
it escaped to the tree in the first place!). There was a crowd of 7-
or 8-year-old girls trying to give a bath to a perfectly-clean-looking
domestic shorthair (why?) and there were lots of shots of kitties whose
truly wacko owners had dressed them in crowns, capes, sunglasses,
    boots, etc., etc.

I did like Dominique, the guy in Key West who does street performances
with his kitties. And I liked what the kitty wrangler said: dogs come
when you call; cats take a message and get back to you!

    	Leslie,

They must have cut it in half for the late rerun. It was
only listed as an hour or maybe even less in the TV Guide
and at one point when I flipped back something was on that
didn't even remotely resemble a show about cats and dogs. =)

Then again, it was quite late and my brain was fried from
finite math so maybe I'm wrong! =)

| | Darn it, I missed it, too (had to work late). Does anybody know
if/when they will run it again? They usually do these shows more
    than once.

| | I saw this program from the point where the little girl was describing
her cat and stuff, and saw her 'scrubbing' the poor little Bean's head.

I loved the Key West show cats! They adore that man! he's a good
showman too, and the combination seems to really work. I may be forced
to go all the way to Key West next time I go to Florida! 8-)

I thought the temple lady was out there. She also has a Serval Cat,
which is very much endangered in the wild. I wonder how she came by it?
Most likely rescued it from a Bonehead who thought they could tame it!
    DAH!

I had to laugh when the kitty that was being trained not to eat the rat
was sitting there being kissed and ridden by the rat! The bird did get
a bit ruffled, but never seemed bothered by the presence of the cat, as
long as it wasn't attacking! ;-)

I didn't watch the dog part. I either tuned i n too late, or turned it
off and went to bed before it cmae on. ;-)

I'm mad because I caught the Dog part...but missed the
kitty part!!! there was one little ugly looking dog
(with warts and no hair) that kept winning the ugly
    dog contest!!!!

I wish I saw the kitty part....

Someone here mentioned a good point. I picked up on that too. Although
I love both cats and dogs. If one were to be and outsider looking at
this, all dog owners were prefectly steroe typicaly normal folks and
they love and respect between the animal and human was clear.
The examples of cat poeple seemed to portry that you had to be
somewhat of an excentric to get into cats.

| | I did like the comment from Karras, something to the effect of:

Owning a cat is like an American tourist visiting a good French
restaurant in Paris: you're probably going to be insulted, and
almost certainly overcharged, but somehow you end up enjoying
    the experience anyway.

| | Who, me eccentric? How could anyone get that idea? (Never mind the
kitty stuff all over my house and cubicle and that both my wife and I
talk "kitty-talk" at home, not just to the kitties, but to each other,
and that our friends refer to us as "the cat people".)

I had taped the show while we were watching Northern Exposure and we
saw it last night. There were a few whackos amongst the dog people,
too. At least there was no ugly cat contest!!

Wow! I always thought it was the other way around. You have to be
excentric to be a dog person. (I actually have had dogs, but...)
Imaging a pet that comes when you call it?!?!?!?! Where is the
    challange in that?

| | If anyone ever goes to Key West (I've been two or three times -
nice easy-going place for a vacation) there's a few places of interest
to Feliners. There's Dominiques show at the Malory Square sunset party, and
there's the Hemingway house, which is home to at least 50 "polydactyl"
many-toed cats. (Seem's Hemingway practically populated the island with them.)
All named and cared for!

| | Darn! I only caught part of this on tv yesterday. I thought it was
very intersting. Especially the part with Lisa Bressler and all her
    Sphynx'!!!
Lisa is a great person, I have worked on shows with her. Her cats
are also very good as the Shpynx goes. Her names are very extreme as
    well.

AS for the other show that aired on Sat. That was the 1994 Houston
CFA Cat Show. I also saw a few people I know, including Gail Frew who
had the blue persian that one best in show. I think they were both
    fun. \

Does anyone know when the TBS show will be on again? I would like to
    tape it.
