| | May I suggest (depending on your location) a trip to the
Countryside Veterinary Hospital. They sort of "specialize" in cats.
I had sent someone else there with a tough problem that wasn't
being completely taken care of by a very good and reputable vet.
I think their knowledge was just limited. I would also suggest
that you make the appointment with Brian Holub, DVM. He is a
member of the Winn Foundation along with the hospital being AVAH
approved and therefore is more than up to date.
the number is 508-256-9555 and you may say that I referred you.

| | If it was only the hair loss...my guess would be it was some type
of allergy (flea or food)...but because of the other symptoms...I'm
at a loss. The eye problem sounds like some type of infection....

I would definitely go for a second opinion at a specialist! Please
    keep us posted....

She still recovering from many trips to the Vet and Tufts. She
has a severe yeast effection thats quite stubborn. Daily treatments
of ear goop and constant ear cleaning is the prescription.
My wifes trip to Tufts with cocoa was an eye opener. They wanted
to put cocoa out and then dig all the junk out of her ears. First
there would have to be lots of blood work and other test, before
they could put her out. The cost was alot. We opted to do some
serious cleaning on our own with the vets instructions and change
her cat litter brand. The litter is suspected of irratting her
skin and eyes somewhat. Its been changed for a week now and she
shows much improvement. Were about a week and a half into the
ear treatments and things are starting to look better.
While at Tufts we also found out cocoa has a thyroid condition and
a heart mumur. The thyroid condition is strange because she manages
     to keep on her weight.
Hopefully everyhting will work out. I hate to see her put out at
Tufts unless its really a must. She likes in home health care.

Our two other cats are doing just fine, so's the dog.
