370.0. "Searching for Owners" by MCIS5::SARGENT () Mon Aug 31 1992 13:00

    Hi,

I am trying to find out some information about a cat I adopted in 1990.
I have recently joined the Digital team (on a temporary basis) and I
though I might try my luck here.

I adopted a 2 1/2 year old Spayed Female Cat named Kitty. I got her at
the Sterling Animal Shelter. The story the shelter people told me was
that Kitty's owners had moved into an apartment that could not have
pets. I adopted her in March of 1990 and I always wondered many things
    about her.

My husband and I have since renamed Kitty, Puffy because she is a long
haired cat. I have looked in some Cat books and near as I can figure,
she is a Tabby Persian. She is beautiful with Yellow eyes, Brown,
orange, grey and white fur, with a splotch of white fur under her neck.
She looks like a lion. Just gorgeous. I am trying to find out if she
was an outdoor or indoor cat, if she had any litters, if she had any
friends that lived with her. Basically, just what her life was like.
She is in a happy home with people who love her very much. It would be
nice to let the old owners know that they did the right thing. She
    makes us very happy.

Anyone know the owners? I can supply a picture.

    Thanks,

    Debbie (Puffy & Mittens)

Deb...I doubt very much you will ever obtain the information that
you are looking for. I work at a shelter and it is amazing the
different stories you hear when people "drop off" their cats...and
I doubt many of them are even telling the truth. We have heard
every story possible...from allergies, moving, cat scratches furniture,
wrong color, mean cat, hate kitty litters, he was cute when he was
a kitten etc!!! On occasion we do have people who are heartbroken
and cry when they drop the cat off...these folks usually request
that we keep them informed if the cat is adopted. On these occasions
we usually give the new owner the person name so they can call and
share the good news about the kitties new home.

You can continue trying to find info...but I say...just spoil Puffy
rotten so if she did have bad experiences in her life before you...
the memories will fade and she will only have happy thoughts!!!

Sandy (who has nine strays and only can guess what type of life
they have had..but by the looks of them...they had some
           rough times)
