Huw, my Welsh colleague informs me that the above is in error
should be :
'Miaw' (from the verb 'Mewian') and 'Y Gath' (remember soft mutations
or 'treigliadau' in Welsh change the consonant from a 'C' to a 'G').

I'm not sure of the word for meow in Norwegian (so it's hard to
transcribe it to Swedish) - my guess would be 1. miau ???
