| 114.1 | Hosp. visits for Muffin..? | SOLVIT::IVES |  | Thu Jan 02 1992 13:01 | 17 |
| | This is not an permanent answer but, SOME hospitals will let
    you bring in a pet to visit if they think it would help the
    persons recovery.

    When our daughter was in the hospital for extensive testing she was
    so lonely for her cat. One day the doctor asked her if she could
    have anything brought into the hospital what would it be. Immediately
    Holly said, "my kitty cat." When we came for visiting hours that
    night the doctor told us to bring the cat in every time we came into
    visit until he said stop. This was very beneficial to Holly and her
    kitty as he missed her so much.

    This might help the kitty settle down faster in his/her foster home.

    Worth a try.

       I think that's a wonderful idea, especially where it's your friends
      only companion and vise versa, it would probably be good medicine for
      both (if it's allowed).

    Best of luck as it is a sad situation

| 114.3 | Good News! | FACVAX::JOHNSONL |  | Fri Jan 03 1992 11:03 | 26 |
|  |     Hi everyone,

    Well, I have good news! Someone I know is going to take Muffin for up
    to a month. My friend's relative is supposed to bring her over to his
    house today. Once I get the confirmation tonight, I can breathe a sigh
    of relief. My friend's condition still is unsure. There's a good
    chance she'll have to live in a rest home instead of by herself. I
    probably won't know the final decision for another week or two. I got
    a few calls from people who might want to take Muffin permanently if
    needed. So there's hope for Muffin.

    I've gotten so many wonderful calls and messages from people offering
    to help in some way. The response has really warmed my heart. I hope
    I can someday re-pay the people who have helped me by being of help to
    their cats.

    I will be visiting my friend this weekend and will tell her about the
    many people who have offered their support. I'm sure she will send me
    to the notes file with a message for you. I hope to post one next
    week.

    Thanks so much!

    Leslie and Muffin

| 114.4 | Another happy report! Yay!!! | MR4DEC::COLAIANNI |  | Fri Jan 03 1992 13:11 | 11 |
|  |     Leslie,

      I'm so glad we found a "foster dad" for Muffin! Barbara told me who
    is going to take care of her while your friend recovers. I have never
    met him, but I know he is a really nice guy, and loves kitties!

       Thank you for being so thoughtful and taking this crusade on to help
    Muffin and your friend out! You're wonderful!

     Y  (aka Big Bird)

| 114.5 | My friend | TELALL::JOHNSONL |  | Mon Jan 06 1992 06:08 | 15 |
|  |     Hello everyone,

    I visited my friend at the hospital yesterday and told her about all
    the notes people who offered their help. She gave me the following
    message to pass on to everyone. She wasn't able to make it long
    because of her condition, but every word is sincere:

     This is the owner of Muffin. Muffin is in the good hands of Mark
     in Arlington. It is because of your good graciousness that I can
     feel relieved while in the hospital. Happy holidays.

    Thanks again!

    Leslie
