| | Got $50,000 on you? There are no WORM audio devices on the consumer
    market.

I would suggest that either DAT or a PCM encoder for a VCR are the
    best bets for you.

| | I just this week found a used PCM adaptor (Nakamichi I believe)
at a stereo shop (Gala Sound) here in Rochester. They were asking
$450.00 for it. Had some cosmetic damage, but worked fine.

| | There's an article in this month's Digital Audio on PCM adaptors.
The Nakamichi was said to have been equivalent to the Sony PCM-F1
(I believe), but with a different (and they said better) input stage.

Sony has three newer PCM adaptors available.

| | Thankyou all for your comments. We currently use Sony PCM adapters and
Beta Video recorders for new recordings, but are still concerned about
keeping tapes for long periods (>10 years). I guess we will just have
to wait and see what happens.

| | How much do the various Sony PCM adapters cost?
