there was. I've been hearing "Taxi" an inordinate number of
    times on the radio lately.

I don't think he's out on CD yet. If he is, I'd have found it
    by now!

I've been looking for several months. If anyone does happen to
see one, please post it here!

| | I'm going to check out a store tonight that may possibly have
    something....so I'm told! I'll keep you posted.

For those of you who are not to familar with Harry's albums
Legends of the Lost and Found is a super album.

And so is his live Album...The Best of!

| 829.5 | I'll ask if I get the chance | CRVAX1::KAPLOW | sixteen bit paleontologist | Fri Jul 31 1987 12:12 | 9 |
| | I'll be seeing his brother Tom tonight. If I get a chance to ask
him (and reply here, tomorrow morning I leave on vacation), I'll
let you know. "Greatest Stories Live" would be my first choice,
especially if it fits on (and is priced as) 1 CD.

For anyone who never caught Tom opening for or performing with
Harry, go see him if you ever get the chance. He may not put quite
as much into each song (who could), but his voice is MUCH better
than Harry's ever was. Live beats CD any day!

| | Tom said that the rights to all of Harry's albums except the last
are still owned by Electra. He expects some of them to be
available on CD by the end of the year.

I went to several HC concerts, and have almost all his albums.
I'd love to find him on CD.

    to it yet.

I still haven't seen Greatest Stories Live yet. Is it out?
 |
| 829.13 | I know 2 are out! | MEMV01::SNYDER |  | Thu Dec 10 1987 06:46 | 13 |
| |
Well, Harry is definately out now! I have now picked up both
Heads and Tales, and Remember When the Music (which was originally
    released as "Sequel" on LP).

They are the only 2 I have seen, I'm still looking to see if
Greatest Stories Live is out yet.

As far as the sound quality, I'm pleased with both discs. They
are, of course, AAD, but the recording doesn't interfere with
    the enjoyment of the music.

| | Of course, there's the LV (laser video) disc of "Harry Chapin: The
Final Concert". It's been out for several years and is a wonderful
    remembrance of Harry performing.

| 829.15 | And then there were 3... | MEMV01::SNYDER |  | Mon Feb 08 1988 11:38 | 13 |
| |
I finally found "Greatest Stories Live"....well, not quite "found",
I had to custom-order it from a record store, but they got it in
    about a week.

They did squeeze it onto one disk (I paid $12.99), but dropped two
songs to do so. One was "She was almost seventeen" or something
like that, I can't remember what the other song was.

So, I now have 3 Harry disks. What could be better? Of the 3,
Greatest Stories Live has the best sound. Very good.

| | I found it also! I paid $17.00 at the Pheasant Lane Mall...Boy
does that piss me off! I couldn't find it any place else! So whenever
I heard it was available....well lets just say I needed a Harry
FIX in a bad way! I have the three that are released and I think
they all sound great. I can't wait till Living Room Suite is released
along with Legends of the Lost and Found...GREAT ALBUM!
I really don't care for this business of them removing songs from
the cd to fit the double album sets on one cd. When the Legend
album is released I hope they either have it all on one cd or put
it on two. Post it here if anyone sees it!

| | The other song is "Love is just another Word". Both titles are listed, in
very small print, on the back of the box along with the reason: no room.
I think the time for all the other songs comes to 70 minutes plus some
unknown number of seconds.
