678.0. "Raspberries/Eric Carmen" by TLE::WARD (John Ward) Fri Mar 13 1987 19:47
	Yes, it's great that Capitol/EMI is finally working on getting
	the Beatles out to us. Of course, that means I'll probably have
	to wait even longer before I see "Raspberries' Best" on CD.
	I mean, it'll probably be a hundred years before they wake up
	and realize: ". . . yeah, I guess the Raspberries were a great
	band, too . . ." (The other Raspberries albums are perfect
	examples of great vinyl music that probably won't *ever* make
	it to CD.)
	I have two Japanese import Eric Carmen CD's. One is his "Best of"
	and the other is his fifth -- entitled, oddly enough, "Eric Carmen".
	Sound quality varies greatly on the "Best of", but "Eric Carmen" is
	superb (DA gave this one a very good review some time ago).
	Unfortunately, the "Best of" CD has the edited (single) version
	of "All By Myself". Which leads me to my question: Has anyone
	seen Eric's first solo effort (also entitled "Eric Carmen") on CD?
	The piano solo on the album version of "All By Myself" is killer!
