Can you imagine how "Close To the Edge" and "Relayer" would sound?!!!

Actually, any of their recordings would have a coveted place in
    my collection.

    Sez you! :-)

My second favorite Yes song ever is on Drama. However, given that
Tales got released, I can't see how the rest of the catalog could
fail to make it to disk.

Another pleasant surprise was the price of Tales -- I got it for
    just over $20, after taxes.

You missed "Yesterdays" which is a compilation from "Yes", "Time

In defense of Drama, it's debatable whether any album without Jon
Anderson is really a Yes album but at least Drama has Steve Howe on
guitar, which 90125 and Big Generator do not. I'm sure that anyone who
has ever heard Howe play live knows what I mean. I've been subjected
to Trevor Rabin twice and my only comment is "Bleeccchhh! How can a
great band sink so low?"
Geoffrey Downs is much better than Tony Kaye on stage as well.
Listening to Kaye trying to play Wakeman's parts is laughable.

Was Yesterdays the anthology with "Don't Kill the Whale",
"Gates of Delirium", "Time and a Word" etc. ?

    Is that released or unreleased?

No, the one you are thinking of is their second live album, Yesshows.
Yesterdays includes several selections from their first two albums along with
a cover version of Simon & Garfunkel's "America."

I can't bring myself to compare Trevor Rabin and Steve Howe.
Particularly after hearing "Relayer" and "Tales from Topographic
Oceans." I much prefer Howe to Rabin. I don't think Rabin's an
incompetent guitarist by any stretch of the imagination, 'cause
he's not. I just think Howe is better.

"Asia" is definitely not the place to listen to Steve Howe (or Carl
    Palmer, for that matter).

| | Volker,
Re: 354.10, if you really like 90125 and Big Generator, you would
probably like their first two albums (Yes and Time and a Word) as
well. I haven't been able to get either on CD yet.
I didn't intend to do any more Trevor-bashing, but since you asked...
I can listen to 90125 and Big Generator but to me, Yes without Steve
Howe isn't Yes. My opinion is based in part on live performances. Howe
was never anything less then superb in concert. Rabin was horrible.
I saw Yes twice on the 90125 tour, once at the beginning of the tour
and once at the end. In the first show, Trevor was okay. He couldn't
play the break in "Owner of a Lonely Heart" but at least the band
sounded like Yes.
In the other show, he was absolutely putrid. He went prancing around
the stage and playing guitar like a cheap, sloppy imitation of Van
Halen. As a person who used to practically live for Yes concerts, I
was disgusted, embarrassed, and humiliated. I had to walk out before
the show was over. I knew how sublime they once were and just couldn't
stand any more.
