I'm interested in finding out whether the Sony CDP-302 uses over-sampling and digital filtering techniques; I assume it does not employ two D/A's. I've been unable to find any technical specs on this player to date. I'm looking at this player versus the Yamaha CD-2. The Sony seems to offer better features (especially on the remote); I'd like to know something about it's internals before I make a purchase.

| The following information is derived from the CDP-302 Service Manual. The unit uses a digital filter, feeding a single D/A converter, followed by two (left and right) 6 pole analog low-pass active filters followed, in turn, by a single RC low pass section. It is not easy to surmise the over sampling ratio from the schematic diagram. It looks like it's probably 4. -- Ron | |||||
