| | Err... I stood near Fruitbat at a gig once... sometimes I see hairy
people at airports who could be in the pop business. Does that count?

On the whole I'm disinclined to speak to pop people because what would
I say other than, "I like your records" (or not as the case may be),
and, "I want to have your babies, let's start right now". Both these
statements underline how famous, successful and desirable they are and
you aren't, so, I keep my distance.

Also big John from Goodbye Mr McKenzie, Blood Uncles and some punk band

You have just stolen one of my claims to fame. I saw Johnny Curious

Have talked to Paul Weller and Bruce Foxton quite a few times -
Rick Buckler wasn't interested in talking to plebs though -

Also the Chords and slagged off dave stewart when he was with the
tourists for wearing victorian gear - the frilly shirt n' all that

Also was talking to Big Country when extremley drunk - I was holding
the rice while my mate was pouring the hot sweet n' sour sauce - over
my leg - they got a good laugh at me dancing about in agony.

Had to make a sharp exit after slagging off the members of Crass - told
them they were nothing but a con and they couldn't call themselves
musicians as they played thier guitars with wooly gloves on - they
    weren't too pleased.

a friend used to have a Radio show on radio Stoke and I used to sit in on
the interview sessions, asking a few questions, picking tracks etc... A
few I can remember are :-

Terraplane - who I then drove to their gig after the interview, the
seemed okay but I was never quite sure why they needed hankies tied
    around their legs...

Twisted Sister - Dee Snider (Sp?) was awesome, he's about 6'6" tall
without the high-heels. the rest of the band were big too and were
surprisingly 'nice' people. They turned up with there very own American
body guard who was still wearing a shoulder holster but of course
hadn't got a gun ! The band didn't seem to want him around, he was shut
outside the studio and didn't seem very happy at all...

Magnum - I knew these guys quite well for a while, my girlfriend at the
time thought they were great, so she got to interview them a couple of
times and we'd usually have a few beers afterwards.

Demon - still mates with John Waterhouse their ace guitarist and Dave Hill
the writer/vocalist the only two left, a couple of other friends did
Drums/backing vocals and some Bass on the last album.

and finally for now The Church, the best thing since sliced bread as
they say ! not exactly mates but we always have a good chat after their
    - far too few - gigs.

    more later perhaps.....

    likewise Gary Numan...

what I really want to do is appear Now! and Happening! and Stuff!,
because Stiff Records (more sad old ex-punks, maybe?) are coming to see

| | If you genuinely don't know what I'm talking about, then a brief explanation
follows....
*I like the Wedding Present (Northern guitar based indie band) quite a lot.
*I tend to enthuse about them with my inherent joviality and youthful
exhuberance, but most people don't like it.
*I am famed for receiving a lot of abuse from members who are now gone or
hiding, for cluttering this conference with pointless remarks, usually
 referring to the Wedding Present.
*I don't care
*cos I'm such a rebel
*The Wedding Present are, in fact, quite popular, and I'm chuffed because I met
 them.
End of story, I suppose. Hope this helped your understanding of one of my many
pointless contributions to this Conf.
