| Watched the special and liked it very much. More than some of
the previous ones when they've included so type of ridiculous medical
emergency just to bring everyone together. for some reason it is fun to
"visit" back with the family. It's interesting to see how much or how
little some of the actors have aged/changed (in real life).
In answer to the previous note - yes - a major inconsistency which has
developed with all the followup movies is the math problem - they have
"lost" somewhere between 10 and 15 years of aging.... must be nice,
does country living do that? :^) Even though in real life people
could celebrate a 40 yr.wedding anniversary and have a 48 (or older)
child, not on Walton's mountain! If you can get over that and assume
everyone is 10-15 younger then they should be given the start of the
story in the late 30's and their current timeline of early 70's - the
story works ok.
And I don't remember exactly - but Elizabeth had some job - either
diplomatic/service/news - which let her globetrot. It was explained in
an earlier movie.
And - where in Virginia is this supposed to be? They talk about using
the Washington DC airport with an ease which belays a 3-4 hour drive it
would be (especially in those days- probably longer) if they were in
the mountains, or far enough south to also get to richmond. But close
enough to the ocean to make it a "1 night over" stay.
At the end of the show there was an ad to buy the tape of the show. Has
anyone seen any of the other shows on tape?
Generally - I had a good time watching this show, it made me feel good
and kinda like I'd been home for a visit. And, it was nice to watch
something where the key plot points were something other than sex and
voilence, without the wisecracking/smart mouth comedy. And the kids
were cute but kids - noisy, rowdy, etc. without the kid genious.

It was fun to see the Baldwin sisters. I wonder how many more times
they'll be around. It was great to see them pass "the recipe" to John
and John-boy and the guys reaction to telling Olivia.
Have Ben and Cindy divorced? I seem to remember that was mentioned in a
previous movie, but can't remember.
Not quite sure the photographer was necessary - except to fill in some
background history they normally shouldn't have to explain. And
John-boy/Janet don't have the money to a bigger apartment or twins, but
he makes an offer on 10 acres of property?
I liked when John-boy got pushed in the lake - was expected, based on
the previous conversation he and the father had, but it was still
funny.
So any bets the next movie will be Elizabeth getting married?
