| | It is OK and it has kept my interest enough to watch the
second half tonite. But I guess I have to admit that I am watching
it because of William Peterson, not because of the squid.
I pretty much watch anything he is in.

| | I guess they figure it's been long enough since Jaws was released to
make a movie that's almost exactly the same but with a different
    aquatic species.

I found it a little slow starting, but I sure did know where it was
    going.

| | I feel the same way as .1 There is something about William Peterson
that I find very watchable in him...He was in "MANHUNTER" which was
the first installment of the "Silence of the Lambs" and I thought he
was superb in. He also starred in "HARD PROMISES" with
Sissy Spacek. Right now he is in "Night of the Iguana" on Broadway.
I think he was in "COUSINS" with Ted Danson too... Does anyone
else know any other flick he was in.... curious...

He is in the movie "Fear" that is out right now, he plays the father

of Reese Witherspoon, who's being terrorized by Marky Mark. I also

remember him in an HBO movie called "Long Gone" where he played a

baseball player on the down-side of his career, it came out about the

same time as "Field of Dreams".

Not bad for a tv movie.

Sure took a lot of scenes, and storylines from "Jaws". Been years
since I read the book. But heard that 2/3 of this movie wasn't in
    the book.

Not enough terror, suspense and gore to be a real thriller.

    But that's television.

Finally! "To Live and Die In LA" was a terrific movie, and the
one where I learned to start watching Peterson, DaFoe, and John
    Turturro.

Directed by William Freidken ("Exorcist," "French Connection").

    Best car chase ever.

| | Caught some of the first night (when grumpy old men was in commercial),
enough to see many "jaws with tentacle" scenes. However, it got me
interested enough I watched some of the second night. However, I was very
dissappointed with the ending. At 10:50 I remember looking at the TV
guide to see if the movie was going to run longer than 11pm 'cause I
couldn't see how they'd finish it so quickly, but they did..... a
    definate let-down ending.

I kept expecting Richard Dreyfuss to pop back up.

I'd rate it fair or worse.

William Peterson played Chuck's dad in "Amazing Grace and Chuck".

(From what I can gather I am one of about 6 people in the world who
    likes this movie.)

| | By far Petersen's best movie role was that of Cecil "Stud" Cantrell in
the HBO movie "Long Gone", costarring Dermot Mulroney and the delicious
Virginia Madsen. It is one of the best baseball movies ever made, a
faithful adaptation of a terrific Paul Hemphill novel.
