    I watched North & South I and II back in 85 and 87? and I just
    loved them both to death!  I was haning on ever word and I was
    totaly into it
    
    but, this new one.. Hevean and Hell...I can't stand it!  It
    just does not have passion that the first 2 did.
    
    But, I will watch again tonight to be sure that Mount Royal is
    saved.
    
    Hmm..mabye it's casue Patrick isn't in it this time?  :-)

    I agree.  I found it rather strange that Orrie's wife (sorry, I'm
    terrible with names!) took his murder so well.  They didn't even
    show her reaction when he was first killed - and when visited by 
    George Hazard, her reaction was "oh well - life goes on".  la tee
    dah...
    
    They were so much in love in the first two miniseries.  The storyline
    is a lot weaker and the characters seem artificial.  The writers can't
    be the same ones who did the original series.

    Thank you!  I thought I was the only one who thought this series was
    terrible!  I loved the first two.  The acting was good then.  This
    series is so empty of the emotional that was in the first two.  The
    actors/actresses in H&H are bland and non-chalant.  Even Tim Reid who
    plays George Hazard in all three series is bland in this one.  His
    emotions are unbelievable.  I can't stand the way Madeline is in this
    one either.  
    
    Very disappointed in this!  The books were excellent!

    I know what you mean about Maddline (Orry's wife) for two shows
    they were soooo much in love, then to have him killed and Maddline
    not even showing any emotion was terrible!  And to have her all
    excited about George and jumping in George's bed was just
    unthinkable.....It was just horrible!  ImHO

    Big surprise about Madeline jumping in George's bed - they showed
    them making out at every advertisement even before the miniseries
    started!  So you knew what was coming. 
    
    I didn't even bother watching the third part, since I already
    knew what was going to happen.  ho hum..

    By any chance did any of you tape this .... Was was on vacation out of
    the country, had the VCR all set to record and we had a power problem,
    got the 1st night nothing else .... I'd like to borrow a tape if anyone
    still has it ....
