| | Archaeologists have found a tower temple located at the site of the ancient
city of Babylon, to the north of the Marduk temple.

| | I read recently that the tower of Babel, after a long delay, was
finished. It was not all that tall (by modern standards).

| | An insight I've read regarding the Tower of Babel, had to do with this
being the focal point of uniting all the world under one religion (the
tower was a religious structure)... one that worshiped the created
    rather than the Creator.

In His mercy, God scattered these men and confused their languages to
keep them from accomplishing this goal. Such a goal would have ended
    in disaster.

Unfortunately for the world, it will happen a second time, and this
time God won't end it with confusion, he'll end it with fire. God told
us in advance that this will eventually happen.

We build our own Tower of Babel today. It's so obvious to me that I'm
amazed that so many can't see it for what it is - the fingerprint of its
builder can be clearly seen if you know where to look. Spiritual
discernment in this day and age is very important, there are many
snares that need to be avoided. Even the elect can be fooled if they
    are not careful.

| | As one of the last survivors aptly stated...

"The Titanic stands as a symbol of man's arrogance".

As does the towers of New York and every other manmade trophy district!

I don't agree. The Hebrew Mazzeroth is a zodiac that pre-dates the
common Babylonian version and it spells out the gospel in the
constellations. The 12 major constellations were also the symbols used
by the 12 Tribes of Israel. Hebrew tradition is that Adam named the
Mazzeroth (as the Bible says he named the animals). When you list the
tribal names, their meanings in English, their role in Israel, and even
the translations of the Alpha and Beta stars in each constellation, you
get the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For example, the first constellation
is Virgo or virgin. The Tribe of Zebulon which presided over Nazareth.
The 12th is Leo the lion (tribe of Judah) -> The Lion of the Tribe of
    Judah.

One of the Psalms states, "The Heavens declare the glory of God." What
is God's glory? Creation? Can't be, there's only a few chapters in the
entire Bible that mention it. Think about it for a moment.

The glory of God is REDEMPTION! It is literally in every chapter of
every book of the entire Bible!

As for the Tower of Babel, I think it was destroyed to show that people
can't work their way to heaven. You have to follow God's plan of
    REDEMPTION to get there.

My understanding of the Tower of Babel is that it was converted to
condominiums, but the investors were too heavily invested in junk
bonds and went bust. The Tower sat idle until a Japanese consortium
bought it in the real estate binge of the '80s
