The Sledgehammer. That's what its author called it. It would strike a
blow for charity and compassion. It would smash a hole in the wall of
greed and selfishness fostered by a culture of capitalism.
Charles Dickens wasn't a particularly religious man. He was a reform-minded
man, however.
As it is, Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" has become a pleasant tradition, a
story dusted off once a year for a time and reshelved after the holidays.
Some have accused Dickens of actually contributing to the commercialization
of Christmas.

| Funny, but I'm always a bit reflective after seeing ACC. I try to take

"bedchambers."
