| | light.
Warmth, cats soaking it up in the windowsill, plants growing
Bouncing off faces, bringing images to our eyes
massless little umphs of energy silently roaring through space
      from distant stars
    light.
lets us see the furniture in our brains, illuminates us

| | To me, the light represents truth. But the light also leads the way to truth.
Light is invisible to the eye. The human eye can only perceive light's
source and its destination. In this sense, light is like love.
Light is an active, rather than a passive element.
Light illumines and purifies. Light exposes.
Peace,
Richard

    	When thine eye becomes single
Thy whole body is full of light.

(The above is not an exact quote, that's the way I recall it).

Since we have 2 eyes, in order for both eyes to become single
you have to bring them together and concentrate them on one
    	spot, like when you meditate.

When you meditate and your eyes become one, you come in contact
with your own soul (Higher self) through which you bring light
(illumination) into your personality (lower self).

That is my understanding of light, illumination, guidance from my
    	Higher Self.

| | The Light has always been an important (some would say *the* important)
concept in Quaker theology. Quakers in Fox's time were often refered
to as "Children of the Light". The Quaker theologian Robert Barclay
even referred to John 1:9 as "the Quaker text":

The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the
    	world.

| | .4 Mike,

I was hoping someone would mention that. In Quaker circles it's
called "the Light," the "Inward Light," and the "Light of Christ
    within," to cite a few.
