| | The epitaph on my parents stone is "Not here but home." I've always
liked that one. For my own that would be good I guess. I haven't really
    thought about it.

| | We had a very talented pastor and musician preach on
this very question 3 weeks ago. He said that we should
live our life so that others will write exactly what we
want for our epitaph. I still don't know what I want
written. :-)

| | Well, my boss, his boss and personnel just wrote mine:

    	"You're TFSO'd!"

ps: and this is the first place I've come to - even before Dot knows
        - she's at class

| | Ron,
Sorry to hear the news, but I'm sure God is working his will in this
matter and you and Dot will soon be ministering in the church.
Prayers and love to you both!

I agree with Ro. Things like this have a funny way of working out
for the best. Love, peace and good wishes to you and your ministering

Good luck with the job search. I agree with both Karen and Ro. I hope
this provides a good opportunity for you to put your time and effort
    into the search.

| | Thanks for your thoughtful words. I'll tell you that this situation
doesn't bother me at all and it's probably the first time in my life
when I've been able to so that. When I was in "the closed room" I
asked personnel directly if I was the only person in the group to get
    it and they said yes.

My reaction was that I thought that was great and that what I wanted
was for them to leave the room and tell the other ten people in the
group that they weren't part of the cut this time around and that they
COULD get on with their lives.

The method the bean counters used 4 manager levels up from me is truly
a rare specimen of intelligence; translated, that means Digital is in
BIG trouble. I'm not going any further into that rathole right now.

Our status is that both our profiles are in to national headquarters
and we each have six of eight references in to them (they get mailed
directly by the people who are the references). National will begin
the process of assembling the profiles (actually compiling them) once
they receive seven out of the eight references.

We have been feeling pulled (called) to seek a senior level single
charge which we would share as co-pastors. It is primarily because of
my witnessing Dot's fine work at Trinity in a large church setting that
we feel that we can do the job just fine at that level. The senior
pastorate is one that usually calls for fifteen to twenty years
experience but we have life experience that matters and we have been
actively involved with churches almost all our lives.

I'm not closing any doors though and have contacted my network of
friends within Digital and beyond for continued work in the technical
field. When one door closes, several others open.

So, I'm in good spirit. I went to church last night and sang in the
choir. The music of life - how many sounds there are.

    	Peace!

    	Ron
