    I was given a pendant by my mother this past week and I'd like to know
    if anyone can identify it for me.
    
    It is attached to a ring by a knight's helmet and shoulders. 
    
    the pendant itself is square but cut or indented at the corners
    to make a cross shape.

    the latin words  in hoc signo vinces go around the outer edge starting
    on the left side, the words are background but are surrounded by a 
    curved banner like band of black. (I know that those words have been
    said to appear in the sky over a cross on the eve of a great battle
    or something for a famous ruler, maybe Charlemagne?)
    
    In the center is a crown with a red cross through it. There is a white
    banner on the lower half of the cross where it protrudes out of
    the bottom of the crown.
    
    There are also marks that I would call decorative around the
    cross/crown/banner, like sunbursts or star rays.
    
    On the back is a sheild shape with a white ring in the center. In the
    ring are letters, reading from 12 o'clock going clockwise they are:
    H T W S S T K S
    
    I showed it to someone familiar with Knights of Columbus and he said
    that it was not a K of C emblem. (My great grandfather was Anglican
    so that would have be unlikely anyway, now that I think of it.) My
    mom thought it was a Masonic symbol.
    
    Anyone recognize it?

	inre .1 Thanks Ro, I used my mods privs to modify your note so that masonic can be added to anyone's note book by pressing the 7 on the key pad. in re .2 How would I find out, and isn't DeMolay a Roman Catholic organization? Bonnie

	DeMolay is not a Roman Catholic Org but is often thought of a a Jr. Masonic group. It, in fact, is sponsored by the local Masonic Lodge. It has degrees (first & second) similar to the Masons. It is similar to Rainbow for young adolescent girls who are spnonsered by Mothers of Eastern Star. Regards, Ron

I thought it was Constantine, but here I'm guessing. I know very little about Masons, but it doesn't sound like what I have seen of Masonic emblems. Peace, Richard

	The is a Catholic organization called "The Knights of Malta" or something like that as well. I think it's the oldest lay organization in the RC. Jim
