Well, we did need an excuss to make another visit. So we bought a
    brick. $96 of vanity.

I'll post the location when I get it. Quit a lenghty application,
a lot of lawyerise. You get 3 lines of 16 chars/line. You can only
put on family names and a location. each person [sponsor] on the brick
has to sign the lengthy contract.

So now the planning starts on visiting the brick. 3 weeks in December
or Feb 96. I've been waiting 3 wks for the planner. they say info
takes 4-6 wks to receive. I'm late at starting...

Our certificate is back, we own a brick. #W10645

As you face the MK entrance, W10 group is to your left. about parrell
to boat ramp, perhaps near the monorail entrance.

real nice certificate, suitable for posting. But can you believe
a poor quality photocopy of a map locating the brick?

Judging by the fact that we are close to the entrance to the MK,
I'd guess that the walk is not a big seller yet.

We did not receive a map with our package. If I give you the brick #
would you be so kind as to find my location? I know the # begins with

Our brick's number is something like ?3348 (don't remember the letter).
It's supposed to be near the kiosk advertising Disney movies, just
after you come off the Monorail. Ours said:

after putting in 3245 bricks on our side, they stopped and started on
the other side. So, if anyone sees it, please let me know.

| | Ed,

Your map shows only letters "E" and "W". I could have sworn my brick
begins with "A". I didn't remember to look last night when I got home.
I will write myself a note to check tonight. I'll post what the brick
says tommorrow. I would appreciate a copy of the copy, you can send it
to John Ames CHO. We are now planning a late August trip to visit our
    brick.

perhaps there are other areas? I don't think so, if they are starting
from the entrance, my brick is near the entrance, and I bought it after
you bought yours. The arial photo show the walk enteding more along
    toward GF.

hopefully someone going down in the near future can let us know what is
going on and tell us if they see our rocks.

| | Ok,

Got out the certificate last night. Our brick reads:

                   The Ames Family
                   John Cathy Chris
    	           & Elizabeth
                      W06166

By your map it looks like we are right by or under the monorail line.
The "E" and "W" thing now makes sense, it probably means east and west.

I forget the actual method, but all bricks can be located by search for
numbered "key" bricks along the edge. Each brick number is a key of E or W,
for east or west of the center, and a locater number which might be 093
in mine, and then a brick # down from the edge, which might be 74 in mine
if I remember correctly. Ask at the brick vendor.

I can't remember if I paid full price or got a discount....ouch.
A kiosk is a very small freestanding structure used as a newstand,
vending area, etc. In this case, they are very small, and have posters
up in windows on them. The ones outside the Magic Kingdom make excellent
obstacles to run into when looking down at the Walk around the World and
not where you're going...

| | I took down the brick numbers mentioned here before I left for my trip, and
tried to find a couple of them while I was waiting for the boat to Narcoossees.
Finding them was not as easy as I thought it would be since the bricks are not
in absolute order by number. They are grouped by the first 3 characters
(e.g. W06's are together) but within those groupings, they are somewhat random.
Anyway, I found brick W04438, but it wasn't Jay Feeley's! Could you have
posted your numbers wrong? I'm almost positive that I saw that brick with
someone elses name on it.
I did find both John Ames and Tony LaPointe's bricks. Tony's is on the path
that leads to the launch to the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian. John's
is near the same area but closer to the entrance to the Magic Kingdom. They
look pretty good! I wanted to look for Bill Abrams and Ed Badger's bricks
too, but the boat came. Sorry!

Yes, bricks are still possible. I received a brochure on this about
4-6 weeks prior to our trip last week (not a coincidence, I'm sure).

And, while there, they had an area cordoned off near the boat dock
where you could see that they had been placing more bricks.

extend all the way around the Seven Seas Lagoon -- 2 or 3 miles I think. So
far, only the area directly in front of the Magic Kingdom is done.

On our trip two weeks ago, we enjoyed hunting down our Walk Around the
World brick, as well as the bricks of the Badgers, The Ames, The LaPointes,
and the Feeleys.
Our brick is located about 60 feet from the turnstiles, between the guest
services window and the first turnstile. I have some great pictures of each
of us standing in front of our brick, with the MK entrance behind.
I also took pictures of each of the bricks of the folks above -- If you'd
like them, send me a US Mail or Interoffice mail address (FPTWS1::ABRAMS)
and I'll mail them to you.
While waiting in the turnstile line one morning, we listened with growing
exasperation to a family 3 back in line discussing the Walk bricks. "Why
would anyone pay a thousand dollars to have everyone walk on their name?"
"I dunno. It probably only costs 300 dollars, or maybe 500." "It's still
stupid. I bet it's a thousand." This went on for several minutes...
I finally can't stand it, turn around, and announce, "It's just $100!"
Startled, they say... "Aha! Did we walk on your name?" I said, "I'm
not telling..." and then I point behind them and say "probably..."
Then came the magic.
The people in line behind us point in another direction and say "We're
over there!" Another family points, and another, and another... and
one says to the folks who like to walk on names that it's only a matter
of time before they, too, spend their $100.

I've been swapping paper work with a friend. The brick she

These two bricks should be at the very end of the walkway by
the EXIT to the ferry. We saw the empty bricks while we were
    there in July/August.

The next phase of the walk is the walkway to the Contemporary

    the ferry exit instead.

These new bricks are granite, and located near the TTC. the design is
mickey ears/face with castle with the letters 25 inside with the words
"The Badger Family" [the name on yours would be different].
on the mailing, they list a bogus 800 number [mail order number] that
sends you to another number. That number has been out of order for a
    week.

I don't know about this one....

o I'm not too happy with just "the badger family" engraved. there are
over 800 badger families in the USA. perhaps I'm greedy or vain, but
I'd want some way of IDing us.

o the cost. Perhaps if all the badger families contributed, we could
afford one granite brick. $225 per brick. ouch.

they are going to have to sweeten this deal in order to get me...

    Ed,

When I called they took my name, number etc and assured me a prompt
call back by the "brick people". It's been three days with no call
back yet... Not acceptable service in my mind...

I guess they don't have much incentive to move these things...
