bugging me to see the new stuff (B&tB show, VOTLM, Muppets 3D,
Splash Mountain). My son (currently 4) wants to go on Humunga
Kowabunga.

WHY: Always wanted to experience a warm Xmas (fingers firmly
crossed for good weather), and as company Xmas celebrations
have been cancelled for business reasons in the UK, I had
to cheer myself up somehow
DOWNSIDE: I have to admit not being too keen on kids ... I'm going
to re-read the notes concerning kids at Disney to get some
survival tips
UPSIDE: It gives me a perfect excuse to visit the parks again
though!
Roll-on the 12th ... I'm dreaming of Xmas dinner, on a `couch-potato'
li-lo, in the pool.

WHEN: May 29 - June 6
WHO: Bert and Debbie Grubbs (no kids yet...!)
HOW: We both finally saved up enough miles on American
to make a free trip so the plane fare is on American.
Will rent an Avis car once we hit ground.
WHERE: Econolodge Maingate West -- stayed there on a driving
trip last year and really enjoyed the convenience for the
price ($32/night). It's three miles west of the Disney
entrance on US192, less traffic from that direction than
if you stay east of I4.
WHY: We are HOOKED bigtime. First trip for me, long time ago
when I was a kid (COLD December trip). Second trip (Deb's
first) Honeymoon Trip in May 1991. Third trip last April
(driving from Boston).

(will be 40) and the birthday girl Sarah (she will turn 18
while we are there, the whole reason for the trip).
Where: A private owned home, that we will be renting for VERY
reasonable rates......
How: We are getting in touch with a Travel agent to have them
start working on plane fares, and hopefully there will be
another "battle of the fares" and we can get by for
peanuts (yeah, sure)
Previous trips:
Me - the month MK opened... not too much to see, there
was more construction than rides, or events....
Sarah & Me - Arpil 1990, I won 2 RT tickets to anywhere in
the US, and we went there for a long "girls only" weekend!
People here at work are ALREADY getting sick of hearing me talk about
my "up coming" trip to Disney World...... and I have another 13 months
to wait!!!!!!!! (Glad I'm not holding my breath)

Why: Second half of our honeymoon trip.
How: We'll be flying over from St. Croix on American Airlines
Last Trips: Moi in April, 1978, and October, 1990
Alfred twice at Thanksgiving but only for one day each!!
Comments: We finally made the decision to get married here in New
England, and to spend part of our honeymoon at the World.
Alfred has only been to Epcot and only on day trips. I
can't wait to show him the rest of the world, and I'm
really excited to be splurging at the Beach Club on the
World Vacation Plan!!

vacation. My mom is coming to help me with the kids whom I
have already predicted that they will be on a very high energy
level for the first few days before they become normal again!

Last trip: 1992, April school vacation. Basically this is my 10th
trip to WDW, and my daughter's 6th (she was a baby the
first two times I went, although I took my son, and twice
I went with friends because my kids had other plans).
This year my two oldest are off on their own, and my youngest (a senior
in high school) can't bear to leave her boyfriend for a week. So it's
just me and Child #3, and we're going to have a ball! Luckily she's
the one who's easiest to travel with; she's not a picky eater like my
youngest, which means when we're in Epcot we plan to have dinner in
Morocco for the FIRST time! We have the easiest rapport and she
doesn't mind leaving her boyfriend for a week. I can't wait! I was
planning to skip WDW this year but got the urge just a couple of weeks
ago (from reading this file!) and within 24 hours Kalin and I decided
to go for it, so I tried to reserve CBR but they were booked for the
entire month of April so Dixie Landings was our second choice. Their
more budget-minded rooms were booked so we got a garden view; that's
fine with me. I'm very excited about this trip; my workload this year
has been out of this world and I DESERVE this break!

I ended up getting a companion ticket for Continental and my parents
were in Florida for the month so we agreed to meet in WDW for 2-3 days.
Actually we will be going to Epcot, MGM and then to Universal for 1
day.
Last trip was last May so the only thing new in MGM is the Aladdin
parade. My parents have never seen MGM or Universal and since they
last saw Epcot many new attractions have opened. We all have seen MK
many times so we will skip it for this short visit.

gas. The Train is $381 - and would have been cheaper if it was not so full.
We should be a long break in DC on the way down.

| Nancy - Hi! I know someone who took the train down to Orlando, and
they said that it took 27 hours! I don't know how much it cost, but
they said that next time they would definately fly down. If I remember
correctly, it was about the same price as flying down.
I think you can call 407-WDISNEY and get information about staying
inside the part - that's the number the TV commercials advertise to get
information.
We just went last month and stayed at the Carribean Beach Resort and we
really liked it.

WHY: Why not? We have two frequent flyer tickets begging to be used
before June 15 and our 25th anniversary trip to Kawaii was rudely
interrupted by hurricane Iniki. Those seem like good excuses to
splurge.
This will be the 4th trip to WDW (also did 1 to DL); but this will
be the first without the children!!! They are in college and are
NOT happy to be left behind. Oh well.
This will also be the first time not staying in FW.
Probably check out the Disney vacation Club condos as long as we
are there. Might even put on a suite and wander into "Casting".
NEXT: Summer of 1995 when I am through writing college tuition payment
checks. It will be a two_for_the_price_of_one graduation present.

to make some!
last trip : For me, Marcie, and Norb, March 1992. We went with two other
people from work on an 8 day, 7 night World Vacation package
and stayed in the Treehouses. We had a blast! It took them
a while to convince me to do the package then, but what a way
to go! (It didn't take any convincing this time.)
Patrick was last there in June of '89 for an extended-family
reunion -- parents, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins,
grandparents -- 13 of them all together frolicking around
the World with their World Vacation cards.
For Jaime it's been several years too -- probably three or
four -- since she was there with her parents and sister.
She's never seen MGM at all and is very psyched to go.
Only 115 days to go!!!

| Persistence pays off!
After about 17 calls to the CRO looking for a cancellation, we managed to find
a room at Dixie Landings instead of the Beach Club for our trip. I know, the
amenities aren't as nice, but the nightly savings are substantial!
We now have a room with a king-sized bed in the Alligator Bayou section of
Dixie Landings! We will have stayed at all three of the onsite economy hotels
and will be able to decide which is the best one for us.
Robyn, we will be at DL the same time as you and your daughter, so I will be
on the lookout for you and try to give you a call.

Why: Unexpected semi-emergency trip to see in-laws in Naples. As
long as we're spending the airfare we might as well have some fun!
Tampa is a good compromise for arrival/departure and car rental
reasons (Value compact car for $107.99 for one week with
unlimited mileage!).
Besides, reading this file lately has given me the -itis
worse than ever!

PS: We originally planned to go down in October, but felt guilty taking

we'd be too rushed. After reading this notes file, I figured we'd
buy the annual passports and go down for a longer period. This way
we can take our time and the annual passports seemed to be the best
way to go. It also seems like you get more for your money in the
summer although lines may be longer and it's hotter.

out of US Air. We got 2 rt tickets and the car rental
for $700.00 Has anybody ever left out of Manchester or
for that matter on Continental...It seemed easier because
we are leaving a 6:40 am and with a baby the manchester
airport is all of 5 minutes from our house...I just want
to make sure they safe, good, and accomidating for a baby.

It must be a trip! is it... DISNEY? "I'm never going to try
to surprise you again!" she says. "But the anticipation is half
the fun" I counter lamely.

| Here's an update (from 312.45) for our trip since a lot has changed.
Most importantly, it's only 22 days to go instead of 115!
when : August 19th - 29th

on the extra night at either end just seemed like the right
thing to do!
how : United Airlines from Boston to Orlando, non-stop, $198 RT.
We were going to drive, but the price for the flights was right
and we gained two extra vacation days.
We'll have a rental car from National. Sort of expensive,
but we decided that it was worth it. $275.15 for a midsize,
4 door car for 10 days. This includes the 6% sales tax,
the $2.05/day FL fee, an extra driver fee, and a AAA discount.

Today we worked on our Rest and Relaxation time possibilities -- there's so
much to choose from!
We're planning to spend the day before our package starts at Universal Studios
before we check into the Beach Club. It's the only chance to go to Universal,
since once I enter the World, I do not leave! Only 22 days to go!!!

Science Fiction Convention in San Francisco. After
hearing from some of the people who are working for the
convention, I decided to cash in the 4 days left on a
ticket I bought for an ex-girlfriend to come with me to
last-year's WorldCon (Which was in Orlando) and the 4
days of stockholders tickets. At this point, with the
airfare and admission covered, a week at Walt Disney World
will be cheaper than a long weekend in San Francisco (and
more fun, too)

Holidays Package. We have made reservations for the Christmas
Show for the Wednesday evening. We fly back to Boston on
12/4/93. This package was obtained through Thomas Cook travel.

When: 11/18-20 (short trip)
Where: either Contempo or Poly
How: Delta
Why: She is getting an all expense trip. She is going to report on the
Disney National Youth Conference being held a Disney World. She is
a reporter for WBZ AM 1030 Kid Company radio here in Boston and
she was selected as a member of the NE media to cover the event.
NOTE: ANYONE planning to visit during this time frame please take
note that Disney plans on having approx 30,000 kids here for
this event which also include the Disney Teacher Awards.

| WHO: me and my husband, Gary
WHEN: November 21-26
WHERE: The Grosvenor (Disney Village hotel)
HOW: by sea!
WHY: I've finally convinced my husband WDW isn't just for kids. We're
taking a cruise in the Western Caribbean the week before, and I
convinced him to extend our vacation by going to Disney World instead
of coming home.
LAST TRIP: I've been once, 9 years ago. Gary has never been there.

Where:Vistana. We have time share there for one week
why: Why not? Our whole family loves disney so much its incredible!
How:Continental
last trips: Well, my wife and I went before we got married,we
drove(which we will n5 never do again!) and then

| About time I signed in.
When: Nov. 28 - Dec. 3
Who: Wife, 9yr old son, 5 yr old daughter, and myself.
Where: Contemporary
How: Break in new van with ride from Mass. Leave Thanksgiving morning.
Dinner at aunt's house in Maryland. Leave Maryland Friday morning
heading for Florida. Length of drive on 2nd day will depend on how
kids are handling it. May drive through, maybe not. Check in to
WDW on Sunday.
Why: Be serious!
Last trip: '86 for a day and a half with wife and two year old son. Saw
next to nothing basically.
