I looked into renting an RV at one time. I called a rental place in
West Boyleston, Ma that was in the yellow pages. If I remember correctly,
I figured that it would cost us about $2,000 just to rent it for two weeks
(including milage, gas, etc.). You should double-check me on that
by calling yourself. But, I do remember that for the 5 of us, it was
cheaper to fly or take the train.

    HAVE YOU EVER DRIVEN ONE BEFORE????  I had 9 folks at WDW this summer
    so we rented a BIG mini-van (largest model of Ford Aerostar, if my
    memory serves) and it felt really strange and unsteady to me, even
    though I travel ALOT and drive rental cars ALL the time.  Since I was
    only going from the Orlando airport to the Orlando World Center and it
    was early Sunday afternoon, so traffic was LIGHT, it was not a big
    deal.  After a day or two, I got used to it!
    
    BUT, this would have been VERY unnerving if I'd been heading out for a
    1400 mile drive, with parts of it through HEAVY TRAFFIC and roads that
    I didn't know.
    
    On the plus side, driving an RV would allow you to bring 2 wardrobes,
    one for the warm balmy weather that you hope to find; and one for the
    cold, blustery weather that you could get if you're unlucky.  We went
    year before last during February vacation (flying!!!  I try never to
    drive for more than 4 hours at a stretch!!!) and caught the coldest
    weather they'd had in 3 years.  We were NOT PREPARED for this and no
    amount of bought/borrowed sweatshirts could keep us warm.  We really
    needed boots, mittens, parkas with hoods, wool socks, long underwear,
    etc.  All the stuff that we thought was too heavy to pack.  
    
    If I ever go down there again in the winter on vacation, I will pack
    one or two (or however many it takes!) extra suitcases, with nothing
    but winter clothing.  If I'm lucky and don't need it, I'll never take
    them out of the trunk of the car, BUT if I get unlucky again, I'll be 
    PREPARED!!!!

    You can find some info regardin renting an RV in the RV notefile
    GENRAL::RV.  also on the campgrounds, etc.
    
    Be prepared to spend big bucks.  6-8 MPG  [  500 gals gas]
    approx $100/day rental + mileage [includes op extra insurance]
    $20-$45/ night campground fees
    extra on tolls.
    
    I own one.  talk over why ou really want to do it.

    Howdy!
    
    Does anyone know of RV parks within the WDW complex?  My wife and I are
    considering the cross country trek in a truck/camper rig.  All we are
    looking for is a parking spot with an electrictal cord, sewer hook up,
    within walking distance of the Monorail.
    
    I've never been to WDW, however I've grown up in the shadow of the ears
    of Dland in Orange County, CA.  We are thinking about going in May or
    September.
    
    Recommendations?  tips?  things to avoid?
