    It may seem silly to have to define Walt Disney World, but may people
    get confused and think WDW is the same as the Magic Kingdom. 
    
    In fact Walt Disney World, or "The World" as we Disney-holics call
    it, is over 40 square miles in central Florida.  Within the World
    you will find seven resorts,  three theme parks,  one water park,
    (a second will open this summer), a zoological park, a shopping
    village, and thousands of acres of undeveloped land.
    
    I'll leave it to others to describe each of the elements of WDW.
    But don't ever let me hear you say: "I went to Epcot but I didn't
    go to Disney World".

    
    Ticket: Admission medium good for one day's admission to one gated
            attraction, such as, the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, MGM-
    	    Disney Studio Theme Park, Typhoon Lagoon, River Country,
    	    Discovery Island, or Disneyland.  (note: combination River
   	    Country/Discovery Island tickets are available.)  Tickets
            do not include use of the Walt Disney World transportation
    	    system.
    
    Passport: Admission medium good for multiple day's admission to
    	    the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, and the Disney-MGM Studio
    	    Theme Park.  You can go from one or more attractions in
   	    same day by having your hand stamped on exit.  Passports
    	    include unlimited use of the WDW transportation system.
    
 	    Three, four, five, and six day as well as annual passports
    	    are available.
    
    	    Passports are also available for Disneyland.

    This was mentioned  in  another  note,  but  since this is the glossary
    topic here goes.
    
    TTC stand  for the Ticket and Transportation Center.  Back in the early
    days of WDW  when  there was only the Magic Kingdom Park along with the
    resorts, River Country etc.  this was  the central hub for the purchase
    of the park tickets as well as for the various  modes of transportation
    (bus,  monorail,  water  craft).  But now with Epcot, Disney-MGM Studio
    Tour, Typhoon  Lagoon and the new resort it not exactly central anymore
    and I wounder if Disney may someday relocate it.

    FW =  Fort  Wilderness, no this is not some reproduction of an american
    fort of bygone  days  but  the  name  for the campground located on WDW
    property. For more detail see note 14 and its replies

    Poly is short  for the Polynesean Village resort and a lot of the guest
    seem to refer to it as simply Poly.

    No the  Empress  Lilly  is not the name of some princess inhabiting the
    upper levels of  Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kindom, but the name of
    the multi level restaurant facility  disguised  as a river boat located
    in the Beuna Vista Lagoon in WDW  Village and will soon be incorporated
    into the Pleasure Island complex when completed this summer.

    Unfortunately  (or  maybe  fortunate for those who know)  not  to  many
    people visit this area due to the misconception of  the  Magic  Kingdom
    being WDW that the various vacation package add listing seem to want to
    propugate this misconception, ie.    'Enjoy Walt Disney World and Epcot
    Center' for only 299 ala Crimson Travel etc.

    As Len stated in .2, the Magic Kingdom is  NOT  WDW,  it is only one of
    the 3 current Themed Amusement type parks located on the  WDW  property
    in    Central  Florida  (as  well  as  the  1st  for  WDW  hence    the
    misconception), and is similar in ways to Disneyland in CA.  and  Tokyo
    Disneyland and the soon to open Euro Disneyland outside of Paris.

    Hotel Plaza is short for the non-Disney owned hotels located in the WDW
    Village Hotel Plaza, which currently comprises the following hotels
    
        Buena Vista Palace
        Grosvenor Resort
        Hotel Royal Plaza
        Howard Johnson Resort
        Pickett Suite Hotel
        The Hilton
        Viscount Hotel

    CCC (Care  Care Center) is the gas station/service area (Exon?) located
    between the Main  Tools  and  the  MK  parking  area.  This is also the
    location of National Care  Rental  on site office.  If your are staying
    on site and reserve a  National  car  for  a portion of your stay, They
    will pick you up at the  hotel lobby and bring you to CCC for pickup of
    the rental etc. very convenient.

    The Central Reservations Office (CRO) is the place to call for WDW
    reservations.  They handle the seven WDW resorts, the Hotel Plaza
    properties, and a few off-site hotels as well.
    
    In addition this is the place to book dinner and breakfast shows,
    and make some restaurant and recreation reservations.

    Note: Digital employees who are Magic Kingdom Club members can get
    	  the same services from the MKC Travel Center AND get the MKC

    The Magic Kingdom Club is a corporate discount program offered by
    Disney to large groups, or individuals who wish to pay $45 for two
    years.  Digital employees can join the MKC at no charge through your
    local employee activities contact or personnel rep. 
    
    Many of the details of the discounts and packages offered by the
    Magic Kingdom Club can be found in 2.* of this conference.

    
     This is probably obvious but anyone who goes to any Disney Theme
    Park or to a Disney Store, is called a "Guest.
    

    
    Any place that a Guest has access to is called 'On Stage'.
    
    Any place a Guest can't visit, is 'Backstage' or 'Off Stage'.
    

    A "Resort Guest" is a Guest, (see .13), who is staying in a WDW resort. 
    Resort Guests are entitled to special privileges and discounts at WDW. 
    The "Resort ID" you receive when you check in identifies you as a
    resort guest.
