    I am going to Zanzibar in August for a canoeing/kayaking vacation.
    
    Is August a good time of the year?
    What are the essential items I should take along? Are there any
    items i can take to sell/barter, that the Zanzibar people would
    like to have that is not obtainable there?
    
    I expect to either rough it in a guest house and for a couple of
    days sleep in a tent.
    
    What items are really worth while looking for to bring back home?
    
    Are there any customs on the island that are worth knowing about?
    
    Where is a comfortable but reasonably priced guest house?
    
    What and where are the best photographs.
    
    Any information, at all will be greatly appreciated.
