Hi there, I need to implement access list on a Cisco4500-M for a specific reason, but... When implementing access list, it means more CPU work, therefore less performance. I would like to know if using new IOS features like NetflowSwitching, we can implement access list without "loosing to much performance" ( in the cisco 4500-M). any help will be apreciated, thanks in advance, //Manuel Domingues [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

| 506.1 | should be fast switched with new versions | MUNICH::SCHALLER | Eva Schaller *DSC* 895-6146 | Wed Apr 23 1997 12:14 | 7 |
| I have no idea, if netflow switching improves performance for
    accesslists. However, since v11.1, even extended ip access-lists should
    be fast switched, not process-switched any more.
    For 4500 this should give a rather good throughput (about 25000 64byte
    ip packets), obviously also dependent on media throughput.
