| | Suggest that you try Pala Mesa. It is tight, lots of altitiude changes
and bueatiful. I think it would be a good test and different from the
two courses you are considering. Very close to Pala Mesa are several,
I like San Luis Rey Downs because it is a very different course, but
there is also Red Hawk (I've never played it, but have had several
people rave about the course) and Temecula Creek (which has three
nines, two of which are excellent). I don't know how much you want to
spend, but I would consider La Costa, so you could play where the
Tournament of Champions is played. If you could go a little distance,
about 40 kilometers south of the Mexican Border, I strongly recommend
that you play Bajamar. It is a true links course on a cliff above the
ocean. Wind can change your day - I shot a 45/42 and had lunch,
practiced some putting, and then played the front nine again, but now
the wind was blowing - 56! Hope you've got some ideas from this.
