| | Think that Chip Beck feels that he may have something to prove this
    time out? Knowing Mr. Optimistic, he'll probably blank out all of the
    past and just play his game. Would really like to seem him pull this
    one out though...

| | How about a Watson-Nicklaus showdown ? I can see the Media eating this
    up already! Nicklaus sure looked good on Sunday at the Mercedes.

    	BTW - Is it April Yet ? I'm ready!

| | I guess I blocked out Bernies win. A memory is a tough thing to lose.
    But I still think Fred Couples will come through. I was a bit
    surprised by his outburst in the second hole of the playoff with Phil
    Mickelson on Sunday at the Mercedes (Tour) Championship.

    I couldn't tell if he was mad at his caddie for not moving when his
    shadow was over the ball in the trap. Or whether he was upset by the
    lie in the trap. Either way I believe it was indicative of a renewed
    interest in the game.

    Look out Masters Fred is back!

| 1819.7 |  | NACAD::NISKALA | When will it all end? | Fri Jan 14 1994 07:59 | 4 |
| | I was wondering if anyone else caught Fred's outburst. After his shot
    out of the bunker, after asking his caddy to move his shadow, he was
    heard to mumble about every GD time and followed by the F word.
    Intensity!

| | Freddie was "on edge" from the flu so he's excused in my book. Guess he
    caught a bunch of bad breaks that day.

| 1819.9 | I'm starting to get the itch | TFH::RUGG |  | Fri Jan 14 1994 11:36 | 11 |
| | I think if you review the tape you'll find that it was a Network
    employee. I think he was holding one of those disks they use to
    transmit sound so we can hear that crisp sound of the club striking
    the ball. They get in the way alot and I'd probably get a little
    pissed myself. Seems they need a little basic training in golf
    Etiquette.

      Anyhow, I just remembered this note was initiated as a Masters topic.
    I'll go with a Norman/Couples playoff.

the MAD HACKER down !!!!!!!
          I have to go with the new kid to win the Masters this year,

     I don't blame Freddy for his outburst. He got a terrible break after
     Mickelson got several good ones.
     The real problem lies with the director! He should have more respect
     (or just plain know better) than to stick a microphone in someone's
     face after such a lousy predicament!
