| | I received the final stat sheet from last year a couple weeks ago.
This year the tournament dates are August 24-28. If you played last
year, you will receive a registration package in the mail. If not,
Golf Digest will have the information for acquiring the registration
package in the spring issues. I was very impressed last year with the
tournament. It was a well orchestrated and I had a really great time.

    See you out there

| | Hello,
Just thought I'd chime in about the Du Pont tournament. It was a BLAST!
Very well run as -.1 stated. Last year was my first for this tournament
and I am going again this year. The best part of the thing was the normal
golf joking/jargon with my playing partners. Over 4 days I only had one person
that was not pleasant.
Also, if you're not willing to wait for info from Golf Digest, etc, _AND_ you
want to check out some of the places to stay in Myrtle Beach, do the following:
Call 1-803-448-5952 or 1-800-845-4653. This is/was the Myrlte Beach Golf
Holiday number. Ask them to send you their Golf Holiday Book. It contains
lots of info on resorts, courses, etc. Also, it has a form inside that you can
fill out to GET the registration form for the tournament.
Back to the tournament... If you're concerned about Sandbagger's, don't be. The
tournament 'adjusts' for those types (thank God, cuz they are NO GOOD for golf!)
Also, just go to have fun!
Finally, a suggestion. Go ahead and start playing everything "down" this spring
(or summer for you northerners...heh-heh). It'll give you a REAL handicap and
will build your confidence for any tournament you play.
Again, all you need to enter this tournament is a current (by July) USGA handicap
index and a good natured attitude. And, once you're there, keep pluggin' away.
I was in the flight of 11-12 handicappers...Shot 85, 88 and thought I was out of
it. Shot 81, 82 and tied for 6th in my flight! Such a weird game...
See you in Myrtle Beach!
