| I know Fitchburg is a long way from Kimballs, but does anyone
know if the Kimballs driving range is open ???
And if so, what hours ?

| Kimballs isn't open yet. I'm patiently waiting since it is only about
a 10 minute walk from my office to the mats.
I suspect they will be open the first or second week in April depending
on the weather. I'm not sure of their hours. I think they close at
sunset but I could be wrong (I remember seeing big lights there last
year).

| Have you checked out the range that opened in Fitchburg last year? I
think it is called Hayward Acres, just off Rte 31 I think.

| I noticed that there's a new driving range a few blocks Sterling CC, on
the main road across from the turn to the golf course. It's named
Sterling-Chocksett and looks like they've installed lights. Does anyone
have more info?

I went to the range in Fitchburg once last year and was not all
that impressed. You tee off from elevated tees down into an old
cow pasture. Many balls disappeared into the muck. It also looked
like they had Stows rejects for balls ! It looked as though there
was some land under construction but not sure what they are putting
there. I'll probably go back since it's close to the house and I
don't worry about bringing the kids there !

| The new driving range in Sterling opened last week-end. The T&G had
an add annoucing the opening plus golf lessons.

| Kimballs is OPEN!!! Just got back from whacking a bucket. It's a little
cool out there but it was nice to swing again.

| is kimballs putting in a pitch and putt course in.
it sure looks like it. if so, how many holes? when
are they going to open? etc. it looks like they are
pushing to get it done before winter. i assume they
won't be opne in the winter.

| I understand that it will be a 9 hole pitch & putt. They are indeed
trying to finish late this fall and are scheduled to be open next
spring.
Good way to get the short game in shape - especially early next season.

| One day while at Kimball's, I kiddingly suggested that they put in a
par 3 course of some sort since they had all kinds of room. At the
time, I worked in LKG and never trekked down the road passed the ice
cream stand. The woman who works in the booth at the driving range
told me what .12 has written - they are putting in a 9 hole pitch and
putt course and would like to be open in the spring.
