One of my friends works for HP and got us passes to the clubhouse
and to the sky boxes on the 18th hole, which we only used when we
        got thirsty 8).
Saturday I followed Fuzzy and Strange for the first nine holes; those
of you who picked Curtis for the British Open, better make another
choice quick; He only made one putt on the front nine, missing a
couple of makable birds, including a 4-footer on 5 (I think).
I love watching the Fuzz; he never backs off. On the 3rd, a long
par 5 (I think it's the 3rd), Fuzz and Strange both hit nice drives
down the middle. Curtis lays up (and ended up in the rough), and
the Fuzz pulls out his driver and smashes one to the back of the
green; Fuzzy makes an easy bird, Curtis has to scamble to make
a par. It's guys like Zoeller and Norman that make the game fun
to watch; I'd rather watch reruns of beach volleyball, than spend
	an hour following Curtis Strange.
By the way, does anyone have a friend that belongs to Pleasant Valley
and is looking for a fourth on Saturday ?8). Nice course.

    hi

We were bessed with four sky box tickets, and sat in the AT+T area.
Free food, open bar, shade, comfortable seats, a place to put your
feet up, and a view @ the 18th green which overlooked 4 holes ! I may
never watch another tournament unless I get skybox ;) !

First we watched the pro's putting , it looked like a Ping
commercial. 80% of the golfers were using Ping putters ! I just
recently purchased a Ping putter myself and can see why... excellent
    results.
Next we waited for Mark Calcavechia to tee-off hole #1 then
followed him for 9 holes. YOW! He was averaging 290 with his driver,
outdriving Heinzleman (sp) by 40-50 yards. At one point Mark hit
a drive 294 uphill on a 606 yard par 5, he then hit a 3 wood onto the
green ! After the 294 yard driver, Heinzelman started to smile and
just shook his head ;) .
On the 2nd hole, mark stuck a SW 7 feet from the pin, missed the
birdie putt... was standing over the par putt , when he looked up
disgusted and said "the ball moved"... he called over Heinzelman
who replied "it's not the same putt". In which case Mark had to take
a one stroke penalty. Mark then walked up to the par putt, without
even setting up and banged it in the hole. He was RIPPIN ! One of the
spectators asked him "Hey Mark how's it going", Mark answered "How
    do you think it's F______ going !"

It was a lot of fun watching him play the course, his style of
play is exciting... but costly. He birdies a lot of holes, but
bogies a few also, always going full throttle !

We then went back to the Sky Box's and sat and watched the groups
come up the 18th, while eating strawberry shortcake, chili dogs,
subs, fruit cups... and drinking an assortment of fine liquors , what
    a pig out, I almost exploded ;) .

A local boy from Northboro , Quinn ... hit a Loong birdie putt on
18 to get to -5.. the crowd went crazy !

Tennyson and Verplank came up the 18th needing eagle to tie
Hatalsky. Tennyson bladed a SW to the back part of the green, then
chipped it past the hole and back in the rough (again), then chipped
it near the hole and one putted for bogie. That bogie cost him
BIG bucks ! You could feel the pressure he showed in his game...
Verplank came in with a great SW shot and almost holed it for the
eagle. Then drained a short birdie putt to take 2nd . It was awesome
to have such a great view of the action. Would love to do it again !

    	Gee I can really ramble :0 !!

    	Walta

| | Jon,

the easiest way that I would recommend is the following:

RT. 495 South to Rt.9 West

Rt. 9 West to Rt.20 West (toward Springfield). There are a number
of traffic lights, so it will be slow going.

Rt. 20 West to Rt. 146 South. There is some road construction going on
    around there, so be aware.

After you get on Rt. 146 South, you will drive through the town of
Millbury and enter Sutton. The distance from the Rt.20/Rt.146 exit to
the course is about 5-7 miles. While on Rt. 146, just before the
course, you will come to an intersection with traffic lights. On your
right, on top of a little hill, is Tony's Pizza.
At this intersection, you can go right and you can get to some of
parking lots or you can continue south on Rt. 146 for a short distance
to the next exit where you can get off. Follow this little road past
Vallencourt Folk Art until you see the attendant who will take your
money. The parking lot is right in front of the clubhouse.

Good luck and have a great time!

                         Ken

| | If you go 495_S to 290_W, you'll avoid the Rte 20 headache!! On Rte
290, look for Rte 146 and follow the remainder of the directions from
    the previous note!!!

    Regards,

    Nelly

I plan on attending this years tournament next week. If anyone
has any discount tickets (or freebies) they're not planning
on using please contact me. Looking for two.

As an aside, it looks like a good field this year. Daly, Zoeller,
Stewart committed to play. Still no word whether Azinger will
make his comeback. Couples said he'd play if he didn't play in
the British Open, and I read yesterday that he withdrew so he
    may play as well.

Anyway you can reach me at WRKSYS::PURIS or 223-1501
