| | Laconia CC is a private course. You'll need to link up with a
member or a local/townee (who don't need to be members to play).
On the other hand, I've heard they have let non-members play
in the afternoons on slow days....best of luck. I grew up
and played at Laconia. It's a nice course, especially the
back 9. This is your best bet. And yes, the green fees are
high (not sure if they are $35, but close to that!).
I think 0.1 meant Waukewan, not Maukewan. Haven't played it,
	and haven't heard recent conditions.
Lakeview is a short nine hole course, but it used to be kept
up well. I haven't played it in a millenium, so a change of
hands could have messed it up. Pretty course, open in middle
with LOTS of trees on outer edges. Use to have *intense*
roughs -- much like you see on British Open...don't know
	present conditions.
Oak Hill out by Meredith (off of Parade Road) use to be
fun (short by tricky greens) when I was "a kid", but I was
told last summer that it's in poor shape now...too bad....
Final recommendation....look up my cousin (Danny Dutile) in
Meredith phone book. He's a golf fanatic up there, and would
be able to tell you the best spots....if you can get him....
	he likes the Cape....

| | Jack O'lantern in Thornton (exit 30 on 93) is a very nice course. Just
played there this week and it's in very good shape. The best thing is
they take tee times over the phone and are usually only about 5 minutes
	off, either way.
	Tele no is (603) 745-3636.

| | Peter,

I'm a member of the White Mountain Country Club, located in Ashland,
N.H., next exit up from Meredith/Laconia exit 34 on I93. When you
get off the exit, go left under I93 overpass, continue straight for
approximately 1/4 miles, you will see a sign to WMCC, take a right
and WMCC is located about 2 miles down that road on the left. Nice
course not to difficult, 58xx yards long, pituresque, in the middle
    of a mountain area....Cost for 18 holes, I believe it's $16 on
    week-ends, cheeper during the week.....

     Regards,
      Roger

My wife asnd I just played Oak Hill last Saturday, and found the
course to be in very good condition and a friendly, laid-back kind of
place. Greens fees were $8 for 9 holes on a Saturday. I liked the
    course.
