| 913.3 | State Four Ball?? | NRADM::MCKINNON | grab a bag of bats, killer | Tue Apr 17 1990 10:44 | 5 |
| | Bob, anyone.. how does the State Four Ball work? I see the note says
'two man best ball'. Are they two man teams? Is it really the State
Two Ball? I guess it's pretty obvious, but...

| | Hi Len,

The fourballs are really two-man best ball tournaments. The net
portion is 75% of your full handicap. Prizes are awarded on a per
tournament (site) basis. You need to sign-up a foursome even though
they are two-man teams. The tournaments are generally oversubscribed
and difficult to get into. Send your application in early. It
might be too late already for the first one.

| | Thanks for the info Bob. I've spoken with a friend in Nashua and am
looking to get on a 'team'. That's O.K. if I miss the first one. It's
on Mother's Day! I already missed one MD a few years ago playing in a
Softball Tournament. I don't think I can miss another!

Anybody else hear that the State Am may not be held at Charmingfare
    this year after all...?

I heard a rumor yesterday that they are thinking about moving it from
Charmingfare to Beaver Meadow this year, due to the condition of the
greens at Charmingfare. I can believe it, since the greens are in real
bad shape and we doubted that they could get them in shape by the time
the Am came around. The person that told me of the rumor went on to
say that Beaver Medow is supposed to host the Am in two years, so what
they would do is swap years (Beaver Meadow this year and give
Charmingfare 2 years to get in shape)...
