| | I really doubt if the money on the senior tour could possibly be any
kind of a motivator to Jack. He could finance half the tournaments on
the Sr. tour out of pocket change.

Although the money itself may not be an influence, remember, most of
these guys are competitors, without competition, including the
feeling that you can win, life gets boring (for some at least).

Jack may have loved the long missed feeling of being in the lead. He
hasn't really had the thrill of a Sunday lead/contention since the
    '86 masters.

Personally I am a BIG fan of Jack, though I did not see the tournament
at all, if what was said about the distance, he could be a threat
at Augusta this week. I know distance is not a key factor there, but
the confidence he must have is a key factor. When he feels he is
playing good, not just saying he is playing good for the PR, then
he is dangerous to anyone in any tournament.

| | While I was watching the Masters yesterday, they showed 2 holes
played by Nicklaus and Norman, where Jack outdrove Norman. On the
13th, It was reported that Jack hit the ball 295 yards off the tee,
while Norman hit it 285. But on another hole, Nicklaus' 2nd shot
was from 155 yards away, and Normans from only 105 yards away.
But I think Nicklaus, although not the longest hitter on tour, has
plenty enough distance off the tee, to contend at Augusta. He also
has the experience and course knowlege. Since he shot even yesterday,
he's definatley got to be considered to be in the hunt. Norman,
would have to shoot at least 3 under today, to really be in it.
I'm sure he can do it, though.

| | Beak,

I think if Norman shoots 3 under today that he'd be out of the
running. The cut is 44 lowest scores + ties + anyone else that is
within 10 strokes of the lead.
I'd guess that today the leader board will be around the -8
to -10 number. Norman will have to shoot 5-7 under to make the cut.
I think Norman really showed everyone what his problem is,

    	THE HEAD GAME.

FYI, if the cut were made after yesterdays round it would have
been +2 (those at +2 or under would have made the field of best
    	44 and ties)...

I noticed that Jack was using a blade putter in the seniors...

But a perimeter weighted club at Augusta...

Jack is now using a "medium large" putter as he calls it. It is
made by Macgregor I believe and is called the Response II. It is
a little smaller than the oversized Response putter he had been
using for a while. Seems to be doing quite nicely for him whatever
    it is.
