| | NBA playoffs must have been paying bigger $$$ than the golf. Bet
they wouldn't have cut into an overtime NBA playoff game for scheduled
    golf tourney though.

I wasn't watching, but had I been, I would have shared your sentiments.

| | Golf on tv gets delayed by tennis, college sports of any kind, baseball,
basketball, horse racing , and race car driving. i caught the last
10 minutes of the pat bradley tourney on espn on saturday and she
was about to attempt a 5 footer to make the cut and they switched
to the belmont preview show . For the extra 30 seconds you'd think
they could have shown the host finish up. golf gets no respect.

| | I was a little upset, although, you can watch golf on TV on
Sundays, about 45 to 48 times a year, where as you can only watch
NBA playoffs on TV on Sundays, about 25 times a year!!! :-)
Honestly, I think CBS is just guarding their investment with
the NBA. If they did show the golf, and it happened to go on for
5 or 6 playoff holes, what do you think the NBA would do? Depending
upon their contract, they would either sue CBS or at the very least,
never sign a contract again with CBS for NBA coverage. You have
to put it into perspective. NBA playoffs are a much bigger draw,
then a non-major golf tournament. Had it been the Masters or the
U.S. Open, it would certainly not have been cut off for an NBA game.
But the NBA playoffs are a huge draw in TV audience.

I couldn't agree more. When HDTV becomes the norm there will be
    no excuses.

| | I know it's a matter of priorites..... Oddly enough ESPN's coverage
seems much better than the big three (ABC, CBS, NBC).

What CBS should've done was to tell the viewers that they would
update us ASAP with the status of the playoff. (they may have done
this but I was so mad that I went to the course and beat some balls
    to take out my frustrations)

I realy don't think the networks really care about golf or the
viewers of these events. It could be the U.S. open and if the
clock strikes the new hour off goes golf and on comes "Heidi" or
    "60-minutes" or what-ever is scheduled.

Hopefully .5 and .6 are right... just when will HDTV be available
    to us anyway?
