| | I believe thru Nevada Bobs, Edwin Watts, etc. (large mail order
golf outlets) that Taylor Made metal drivers run about $79.95 per
club. I don't know the present exchange rate, so you'll have to
figure that out. The above stores advertise in all the major golf
    magazines.

| | Also Taylor Mades come in three different types of shaft. Steel,
Titanium, & Graphite. The price goes up accordingly. You can tell
by looking because they are shiny silver, dull siver, & gold in
	color respectively.
In a similar vein has anyone seen a Taylor Made with a graphite
shaft with 10.5 degrees of loft in their recent visits to the
local golf shops (3M area). I want to buy one but the places I've
looked only seem to have 9.5 degrees of loft.

| | These clubs were all identical T-M with Dynamic Gold shafts, what I was
really getting at was whether T-M had these clubs made local to the various
markets which might affect price and more importantly quality...
Seems like T-M make them all in the States, but the cheapest place to
but them is the other end of the world which is surprising since OZ has
whopping sales taxes on such things.

| | If I'm not mistaken, all Taylor Mades are manufactured in California
    only.
I bought a #3 and a #5 last year at the Golf Discount store. These
are the Tour Preferred with the steel shaft. The price of each club
was 79.95. The store was having a 20% of sale, so I picked up the
    clubs for 64.00 each !!

| | Boy... Taylor-Made clubs have sure gone up. I priced a 3-wood and
a 5-wood, metal heads, Dynamic Gold shafts, for $125.00 + tax
EACH! I wasn't expecting this price. I do like the 'rails' onr
    the 3 wood.

Does anyone know what the difference between the 'Tour Preferred'
and the 'Taylor Made', imprinted on top of the metal woods, steel
shaft is? I bout a 5 wood and it's got Tour Preferred written on
top, my buddy has one and his has 'Taylor Made'. Both are this
years club.. They are both the 'system 2'model, railed model.

    		thanks fro any info.

A friend of mine just purchased the "Taylor Made" clubs and of the three,
one was marked "Tour Preferred" instead of "Taylor Made". He took it back
and the pro said that last years model says "Tour Preferred" and this years
model says "Taylor Made".

I believe that what .-1 says is true. I bought one in Myrtle Beach a
few months ago, and saw both. If you got graphite shafts, the
printing is different, too (purple this year, some other color last
year). The shaft is actually different, too (lower torque, I think).

| 551.9 | Thanks for the input | INDEV1::SMITH | I need two of everything... | Mon Jun 06 1994 09:07 | 12 |
| | Thanks for the input. I brought the club back. # 1 it just didn't
match my Taylor Made 3-wood. # 2 the feel was quite different from
my buddy's 5-wood. Really felt *stiff* like swinging a tree-trunk.
Anyway, I explained this to the salesman/pro who was there (when I
brought it back)... and he informed me that this was last year's
model, identical head, but different kick-point. We then went to the
rack... but no used 'this year's models' available. He gave me a brand
new this year's model club... for no extra charge! I've bought several
    used clubs at great prices.
