| | Brewster is on Cape Cod. I've played the Captains and would recommend
    playing there, but I think its out of your driving range. Probably
    a 2 hour drive from Boxboro.

| | Chuck, thanks for the reply. On a cold day in NE and a strong tailwind
    down 128 you may be able to drive the Cape. Would that be a hook
    or a fade from Boxboro ?

| 428.3 | Straight South!!! | OURVAX::GLASS |  | Wed Oct 26 1988 10:04 | 8 |
|  |     Hi,
    Hit it straight down RT128, then RT3 and across the Cape Cod Canal.

    This would be worth the trip and the air would be warmer down there.
    Stow is nice, but play this course if you can and remember that
    the Cape is famous for winter golf!

| | THE CAPTAINS!! exit 11 off the cape highway.
    I played there about 4 weeks ago. I recommend it highly!! This course
    has fairways that are better than some putting greens. When approaching
    some greens on par 4's and 5's it was difficult to tell where the
    fairway ended and the green started. This course by far, was the
    best public course I have ever played on. GO down and try it, you
    will not be sorry. Better than most Private courses!!!

    You must call at 5:00 on Thursdays for a weekend start time. Make
    sure you have a tee time before you go down.

    Golf Digest had THE CAPTAINS rated number one public course in the
    country a couple of years ago.

| 428.5 | Just a little nit to pick | WORDS::NISKALA | Better off dead, than Sooner Red! | Tue Nov 01 1988 14:37 | 6 |
| | Small nit about the Captains. It was rated by GD as the best
    NEW public course about 4 years ago. Just this past month GD came
    out with the top 75 publics in the US, and The Captains is in the
    second 25 grouping.
    	It is a very nice course, had the chance to play it once 2 years
    ago. Hope to get there again sometime in the future.
